Your blend sequence number is the 4 digits after the blend date. Those will be different for each bronco being built that day.
The question was what does the 3 preceding the date represent in their blend number.
Preceding means before, so the first character.

You do realize, that with the checksum digit, it isn't really hard to calculate out the rest of your VIN number.

Is your VIN 1FMEE5DP9MLA75114?

I am sure that there is more than one possible VIN number that would fit that, but I didn't feel like writing the code to go through all of them. However there are only a few VINs that would checksum correctly.

Lol there are many many VINs that fit in here...

Yes, but far fewer than 00000-99999. There are a pretty limited subset of numbers was my point.

I was responding to the statement that he had the same blend number (which isn't really accurate since the blend number includes both the date and the sequence number). If I knew what the three was for, I would have said as much, but unfortunately I don't.

Where do you find the build date of 8/31? Is it this?

1629828315514.webp

If so...what does the 3 in the beginning stand for?
as far as I understand it, the last 6 are the Bronco's 'birth day'. No clue what the other numbers mean and I'm just going by what I read here. My number is exactly the same, looks like we'll be driving around twins ;-)
I asked my dealer if he can confirm or find an other date, haven't heard back yet.

Ford tracking still just says oder confirmed for me, but I have my sticker and blend of 8/31. That tracker doesn't seem to work very well, I actually never looked at it much, just to get my order #.

And why is everybody so protective of their VIN? Anyone can read it right on your dashboard, nothing secret or 'private' about it, is there?

Nope, nothing secret or private. You can read it off the dash. You can go to my dealer when it's delivered and see window sticker, too.

Ahhh the old Mod 11 check digit. Yes this results in the possibility of a check digit being 10 which eliminates those numbers as candidates.

So yes ONLY 9,091 valid VINs.

Still seems like my original assertion that "many many VINs fit in here" was more correct than "it isn't really hard to calculate out the rest of your VIN number" don't you think?

P.S. This is the danger of delay after delay.... We get nit picky... DAMN YOU FORD!!!
