A lot of people seem to be personally offended that $50-$100 is an unnoticeable (for others) amount of money to pay for this convenience

I just spent $50 on la croix, get over it
Some think nothing of spending $5k for Sasquatch or big money for new wheels and tires, but baulk at spending $100 for a useful feature.

What’s a la croix?, I might want one of them also.

That is a poor comparison. Taking the doors off isn't going to trigger a warning light on your dash or potentially void your warranty simply because someone doesn't want to touch a button that is there exactly to disable that feature. I think the antagonistic nature of forums is present everywhere but made far worse by the Bronco delays which should be understandable.
If you would have read the thread, you would see that there are options to mod this that do neither of the things you say they will. No light comes on. No warranty is voided. Stop being critical without reading everything first and if you don't like the fact people want to turn it off permanently, read another thread.

Because the company or a random forum member says it doesn't void the warranty doesn't mean it would apply in any situation which the dealer and Ford would determine...not said company marketing their item for sale or a random person online.

The problem for me with auto-start stop is obviously not the one second it takes to hit the button, it’s that I forget to…and then I about **** my pants when I gun it to pull out from my subdivision onto my busy city street where there’s so much traffic that when have a window you GO, but then once you’ve committed to going, the vehicle takes a tenth or two longer to move cause it shut off and then I think I’m going to get hit. Both the wife and mother in law have this on their 2019 and 2020 Toyota’s and it scares me every time. A couple tenths of a second may sound like no big deal but when I press the gas I expect immediate throttle response and there’s always that split second of panic cause I don’t drive their vehicles every day and forget they are like this.

It literally takes 2 seconds to plug it back in when you get to the dealer. Sure beats dealing with that stupid feature multiple times a day if you drive a lot. To each their own.

Let's reverse it. Since you don't like the consensus go find some proof about warranties getting voided. There are a ton of people and vehicle makes that have this. Forscan changes would be the concern since you are modifying programming. Below is their FAQ.

In the United States, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act offers consumer protection that prevents a manufacturer from denying a warranty claim simply due to the existence of an aftermarket component. The burden of proof is on the manufacturer to prove that the aftermarket component caused the failure. International buyers will need to check their local laws.

While we don't have control over your warranty, we haven't had a single report of a warranty related issue. For the most part, the dealership folks hate start/stop too so it's unlikely they'll give you any trouble. If you're worried, the device can easily be removed before taking it to the dealer. For most dealer visits the removal is unnecessary unless you're having a start/stop issue or an issue with the infotainment. In that case, it's probably easier to remove it then to take the chance of a service manager being difficult. When in doubt, you can always check with the service manager beforehand. That'll give you the best read on where they stand.

Wire one of the accessory switches in the overhead to disable the autostart. Then when you get in and start, you can look cool flipping the switch. If a passenger asks what you are doing, say "turning on the [flux capacitor....extra power boost....stealth mode....landing flaps....etc].

But seriously, the problem is the factory button is not a "toggle". It resets every start, trying to force you to use the feature. It's a punishment factor to MAKE you have to turn it off every time you get in the truck, the programmers hope you forget or get sick of doing it. As an electronics technician in my early days...I'd look for a way to make the switch a true toggle - one that remains in the last condition you set it. "Off" means off...forever, until you push it back "On."

Agreed! This is clearly not for everyone but this will be my first mod when I get my VIN hopefully next year.
Since we have so much time to wait, you can gather all the mods that require dash parts to be removed and do them all at once 🤔

I have no idea what I'll do first, I'm just trying to hold on to the idea of ever getting the thing. I also don't know what my final build will be until I see all the MY22 options and trims. Can't believe it's been so many years and still feel kinda clueless on what and when 😂
