You have a few things wrong.

Ross said under 1k hardtops have shipped.

Also bad batch gets fixed before new FEs get built.
Good to know only 1k shipped.

Personally I don't think there a chance they'll put a top on anything other than an FE till those are done.

I did the same thing, I ordered a soft top yesterday, let's see if I get it before my #badbatchbronco build on 6/29.

Also, one correction, the #badbatchbroncos will take priority for new MIC tops over FE's.
Which soft top did you order?

Sorry, I meant the new MIC hardtop roof production to begin by then. Sorry that wasn't clearer.
That's what you assumed it meant... I read it the other way. The official word was, new MIC top available by October, no? The first of these will go to customers, then to the bad batch... And then production, by November/December (FE' s). 🤷

I think we need to collectively get ahead of this now!

MAP/Ford/Webasto are all still working the problem so there is time between now, and when the corrected MICs start coming in.

In this time we should figure a way to voice our concern about “lot rot” and our preservative that the Group 1 customers currently enjoy (driving) their MIC top broncos are the last ones that should be addressed.

What’s the greatest risk to ford;

a)customers angry about their cosmetically flawed MIC top that’ll eventually be fixed?

b) loosing 1000’s of built trucks when the lot floods or whatever insane “unprecedented” event unfolds next?

Priority should be as follows:

First Priority - Group 2, (build in purgatory)

Second Priority - Group 3, (assigned VINs)

Third Priority - Group 1, (already delivered)

Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

I completely agree with you, and it's a really worry for me as well. We have briefly discussed it in the Colorado group too. Only thing I've seen that has discussed it is this thread where many people pretty much dismiss the OP as crazy. Im hoping we're just paranoid?

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/bad-batch-and-lot-rot.20960/
It's real and depending on where a vehicle is stored, it can accelerate it (outside in a dirt lot in Michigan weather is about as bad as it can get). They talk about obvious issues to spot like corroded breaks and rotors because they are less protected, but degradation of paint and seals can be harder to spot.

People are ignoring it now but I'm sure we will see the threads popping up when #BadBatchBroncos start getting delivered.

Levine stated on twitter that they have a plan for storage and such.
I may have missed that but the tweet I saw was that they were taking care of them and moving them. We see where they moved them to in that video and none of them had any form of protection. "Taking care of them" looks to be putting them in a large dirt lot together with a screened-out fence so people cannot see them.

I am not too worried about lot rot. Between build and transport and sitting on a dealer lot there is easly several months of sitting around. Sure they may get some dings or dents but really at the end of the day that will be Ford paying the dealer to have a PDR guy come out. With the chip issues there are a LOT of trucks sitting out far longer than our Broncos.

The line will be priority. DMBs will get the left over. It won't be a quick process.

Esteban said last night Dirt Mountain gang will start to get resolved in October FIFO.
I don't have any faith in Ford hitting a timeline now based on past performance, but at least it is supposed to be FIFO.
They think they will start in October, but I really doubt there are enough good tops to clear out dirt mountain IN October.

Just ship out the rest of the FE with the existing mic stock. After all, the issues are just “cosmetic”. 🙄

Skeptical here. Any reason I shouldn't be?

Could not agree more... in the first 5 mins they went through a visual timeline and consistently mentioned "this was delayed", "this was pushed back" etc. Just like others have said we would be luckily to see it by December... 😔 (oh and MI winters... good luck to my build sitting out there in dirt mountain when that hits)
