I had a build date of 6/29, Wildtrak. Dealer called me a week later and told me my Bronco was on a truck in PA and that I would probably see it within the week. I secured a loan and got ready to buy my first new vehicle. It turned out that was the dealer Mannequin they weren't expecting and not my Bronco.
I've gotten deep into this in the last few weeks, hounding Levine on twitter and refreshing constantly to see if there's any news or a change in my pizza tracker. I appreciate that Ford finally communicated what's happening, but I HATE that they are not just shipping our Broncos so we can enjoy them for the remainder of the summer and start turning heads away from the millions of Wranglers I see on the roads every day. If it truly is a cosmetic issue only, then there's no safety or functional reason they can't ship and recall at a later time. Most of us would be happy buying an aftermarket top and living with that for however long, we'd he happy because we'd have the trucks.
At this point I'm pretty beaten up, because even if I stick with it, it can't be a smart move to pay full price for a previous model year vehicle, assuming I take delivery in December or January, after it sat in a field for 6-7 months. Worse though, all of my enthusiasm is deflated, and it's mainly because I can't understand what's behind that decision. I hear that it'll be more expensive but Ford is doing fine, they can take a hit this year since it's a first year rollout, they are going to sell out of these things for years to come. It'll only serve to beef up their balance sheet for Q3.
Anyone else feeling this way? Is there any way to appeal to @Ford Motor Company to reconsider?
