I was a 7/14 reservation holder, and up until about six weeks ago, I had no VIN, no build, no nothing. My new dealer (old one was terrible, got bought out, new manager got in touch with me) bumped my priority code to 11, to make amends for what the last manager put me through. Had a build date of 8/16. Got a surprise email last week saying my build date is 8/9.
No update in the tracker, no window sticker, can’t get through to Ford customer service.
With the news that just landed, telling us to brace for more bad news, I’m pretty devastated. Why push my build up if it’s going to be sitting in a lot for god knows how long? Why continue to drag me along by the neck? I’m driving a less-than-ideal car that won’t last another winter without heavy maintenance bills, bills that have already added up and cut severely into my Bronco fund, and I leave the country on a deployment this winter. I have held out as long as everyone else, being led to believe that it would be in by now. I have a VIN and a “build date”, but it might take several more months, or it’s been cancelled without my knowledge, and by the time I get answers or it gets delivered… I’ll be out of the country! So I can’t forfeit my order without being pushed to the back of the line, I can’t push it off to a MY22 build… what the hell am I supposed to do?

Well, it sounds like your mind is running away with you with possible scenarios that are all speculation. You have no hard knowledge except a build date. It's kind of surprising me that you are freaking out over a build date that has actually been moved up, with no more hard information. You asked for advice, mine is to chill and see what happens. Everything else is unsubstantiated speculation, worry and conjecture. Can't make any decision until you have hard information. Have a few beers or shots of whiskey or whatever is your drink of choice and chill. 🍻 🙂

Cancel and buy a Jeep... That's about it. It's a consolation prize, but it's better than nothing. Or maybe a used Raptor to get you by until you can get a Bronco.

Do you have someone you trust to pick up your Bronco if it comes in while you're deployed? You can go see your base legal and get a limited power of attorney to give someone the right to sign the documents for you. After that just have it put in storage or parked in garage until you return.
