Mate, all I know is that there’s a communication coming that’s going to piss off a lot of people. I’m assuming you mean old built tops or are you talking Broncos?
The only certainty is that Webasto is gone and FE’s will be the only guaranteed vehicle to be delivered in 2021.. I really hope they decide to fit some of the acceptable tops to yours and others like yours but that’s not what I’ve been told is the plan.
Is this communication going to involve Ford eating some crow? I think them taking a little responsibility for this mess instead of pinning it on everything under the sun but themselves would go a long way with a lot of folks, myself included.

What’s Vague? My previous post said halting all deliveries of Bronco’s for 21 except for FE until they get the new roof supplier up and running.
Everything else will be 2022. Don’t know when In 2022 as COVID is a an unknown factor.

LOTS of discussion here, and some of the options being brought up jive with *possibilities* being considered. AFAIK, there isn't a firm decision one way or another. All FEs will be built out in MY21 (and honestly those still awaiting a VIN and scheduling shouldn't be waiting too much longer). Some more MIC MY21s are probably going to be built, but I doubt we'll see them any appreciable numbers.

The main thing to watch is scheduling both this week and next (assuming they both end up happening as scheduled). How many members here will see their non-FE MIC units scheduled? If we see many (any?), that's a decent sign. I don't think we will.

Another kick in the sack is that from everything I've been told none of the purgatory units are awaiting any type of inspection any longer. They're just stuck waiting on solution(s).

I've caught wind of several alternatives being considered... some more drastic than others.

While I have your attention (and while the Band Camp jokes are going strong!)... our program's new Premier drums (example below) are DONE and will leave the factory tomorrow or Wednesday. My company, Musick Limited - Premier USA, is providing these drums at cost and I'm personally covering all the importation fees. However, freight to get them here is clocking in at about $2,400 in the current market... about 3 times what it should be in a normal market.

If any of you would like to help offset some of these costs, please know how much myself, my kids, and our booster club would appreciate it. Contributions can be sent via Paypal to [email protected].

I appreciate being a part of this community!
Quick note here to say THANK YOU! You guys contributed almost $500 since yesterday to help offset the looming $2,400 freight bill. We have some local businesses here who are interested in stepping up to help as well. If anyone else would like to contribute, we could definitely still use it.

Y'all are amazing.

So they are going to cancel production of non built scheduled MIC top vehicles?

just curious- I win either way- I have an FE on order (not scheduled/no VIN) and a Badlands scheduled/VIN/MIC

There's things I and I'm sure others would like to get done before my Bronco shows up. Not knowing if this thing is showing up tomorrow or 6 months from now doesn't help.
If you haven't been told anything by Ford, it isn't coming tomorrow.

That's, I guess, the rest of my point - most everyone is getting at least 6 weeks of advance notice, and that would seem to remain the case. You get scheduled - to date that initial scheduling is 4-8 weeks out. Then, after build, you have delivery. Some have been within a week but the vast majority come 2-4 weeks or, unfortunately, longer after builds.

So, know that when you get scheduled you almost certainly have 6-8 weeks to get ready. And most people have been bumped further back on the schedule than their initial.

So alllll the remaining reservation holders can be fit into my 21. No way. There's a cutoff. It needs to officially be put out by ford to all of us.
Not at all. Nowhere close to all the reservations are going to be built this year. But Ford doesn't appear to know which ones will yet - and that's a big part of the problem.

I do think they're getting closer to being able to tell us who won't be built this year, mostly because they're running out of time to build many.

None of this is meant to be a defense of Ford - just a reality check. Even if Ford put an estimate for everyone out, I wouldn't trust it, and certainly wouldn't make any plans based on it.

Thank you.

What does this mean? They know what needs replaced but they can't do it? Some of them aren't hard tops...

Meanwhile they keep building and shipping new units so they have all of the parts required. Confusing.

6-8 weeks to delivery. Here's why I personally would love an ETA. That means a week before the earliest delivery date I need to (these are examples) Get insurance quotes, financing quotes, move money around, etc. Not plan a vacation so I can be around to pick it up, do I need to extend my lease that ends in 9 months (even though I reserved a year ago) etc. I get plans are useless but planning is indispensable. I disagree with you most of us would love to have a rough estimate. Not asking for pinpoint accuracy. Just shot gun blast a quarter delivery window. If they're afraid people are going to leave, good let them leave, helps the rest of us. But how many reservation holders has ford already lost because of lack of communication? Ford hasn't gone broke because of them. This process is just stupid at this point. Ya ya ya Rona I get it. But has Rona caused everyone at ford to lose their fingers too? Nobody can send a substantial email more than stay pumped? C'mon.

This.

I'll hint around where I can, but most of what I've heard has been single sourced and I can't risk burning them.

You would think that Ford would definitely be able to say that they anticipate that they will not be able to build any more than xx,xxx orders and if your reservation number is above yyy,yyy that you are not likely to be built this year, and doubly so for the following constraint items.

Or even something as simple as we have assigned a total of xx,xxx number of VIN's and anticipate assigning yy,yyy more with zzz,zzz reservations remaining before moving forward to MY22.

But no, @Ford Motor Company can't even manage to be minimally communicative. You would think that they were on a ventilatator, unable to speak... Wait, I think that I figured it out... But we can't talk about that.

Are you saying the Soft Tops will all be pushed to MY22 as well? I think at this point the best course of action would be to find a new supplier for both, since the soft top obviously has it's issues too and Webasto is at the root of both tops.

Do we know if the issue that got the early cars into purgatory have been fixed? Are they really continuing to build cars knowing that they're going to get stuck on a lot for months? That seems like a tremendous waste of resources.

The only thing I'm curious about is for those of us with built models, what are they doing? Seems to be the MIC top but surely with their dealer network, whatever most are waiting for could be shot back to the customer for choice.

Hey you want it to ship without X? Well give you Y. Couldn't be to difficult and would be oodles of good will.

I have a lease that expires in a month and a Bronco that's built. I actually need answers
