Hi,

I ordered my Outer Banks Bronco back in February with Lux and Sasquatch package. After seeing the OB without Sas in person and considering the fact that this car will be used 95% on the street, I decided to remove the Sasquatch package and go without. NOW, when I initially added the sas package, I was charged over 5700 dollars but when I take it out, I will get a credit of 4200?! When I start to build the OB from scratch again and don't add the sas package, it will show the price less the 5700. What is the deal here? Also in the dealer build sheet the price for sas is 4200 so I am afraid when I call them to remove it, I only get this amount back and not the initial 5700 I was charged initially. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Its because when you remove the Sasquatch, it keeps the Advanced 4x4 with Automatic On-Demand Engagement. You have to go back to the part-time/selectable 4x4

Yes, the order codes for the "Advanced" Big Bend/Base/Black diamond are different than the non advanced.

Thank you, you are right. It has also a different locking rear axle ratio than the standard OB. It is still done very weirdly. You can not unselect the advanced 4x4 and go back to the standard axle ratio once you cancel your Sasquatch?!

I did not order Sas but ordered the advanced 4x4 with the lower rear end. My OBX with destination charge is $55+k.

Man, the Sasquatch package is a must for me! I ordered a 4-door Outer Banks with the Sasquatch package, non negotiable for me.

I agree, I thought the same until I saw the outer banks w/o sas package live at my dealership. It looked really super nice and considering the fact that I will hardly off-road, I think I will be more than happy without the Sasquatch package.

Does anyone know, if I go with 4.27 locking rear axle final drive ratio (which is default after I cancel Sasquatch), the crash bars will be still deleted? I know that they delete the crash bars with the Sasquatch package but don't know how it is for the above configuration. Also, will I have with this setting a different suspension than with the stock outer banks configuration?

thanks

Can you please explain what is the advantage of this configuration? Thanks!

Since I live in a northern climate I wanted the option of on demand 4wheel drive. In the winter I will set it on 4A and leave it.

Sounds good! Does it mean, with this transmission you can also do on demand 2wheel only?

I believe with the Sasquatch package you have a different suspension vs. non-Sasquatch. Below are the additions with Sasquatch package (so would lose all of these options):
  • 17” black-painted aluminum beadlock-capable wheels with 35” LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain tires
  • Electronic-locking front and rear axles
  • 4.7 Final Drive Ratio
  • High-clearance suspension and position sensitive Bilstein shock absorbers
  • High-clearance fender flares
These are standard suspension Items on the Outer Banks Model:
  • HOSS (High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension) System
  • M190 Dana AdvanTek Independent Front Axle
  • M220 Dana 44 AdvanTEK Solid Rear Axle
Was wondering if you meant Front End Bash Plates, not sure on "crash bars". But the Bash Plates come with the HD Modular Front Bumper Option, so not sure if you can get those without this option on your build sheet.

You would probably have the crash bars installed is my bet.

I also ordered the 4.27 locker with the advanced 4x4 transfer case. I didn't go with the SAS because I wanted the 4.27 gears for the amount of highway driving I do.

I plan on running a 295/70R17 (33.5"x12.5") Milestar Patagonia M/T on 17x9 +30 RTR Tech 6 rims for off-roading. Which will be fine with the 4.27s. Although I might not need to remove the crash bars, I probably will. It's 8 bolts to pull the crash bars (depending on whether or not the bumper is in the way).
