CJ7 next to 4DR Badlands

Checking my local dealership to see if my 4DR BD came in and figured I’d take my CJ for a joy ride. The mannequin was there so I thought I’d share some side by side comparisons. The CJ is nothing special just a 2”body lift and 32” mud terrains.

One thing I noticed on the demo was a really bad paint chip on lower passenger door, looks like someone screwed it up putting the doors on or taking them off. Be careful with your new Broncos with those doors.

It's amazing how much Jeeps have grown too. Nobody values small and nimble in vehicles anymore.

I miss the CJ what a fun vehicle off road.

I was introduced to offroading in an early Bronco and a CJ7 .... Yuma, Az circa mid-90's. USMC.

The rivalry is fun, but that ol' CJ with its weakass straight 6 just puttered along EVERYWHERE the built V8 Broncos went.
What a lot of fun ....and the gal that owned it was HAWT too!!!

Nice CJ. I wish I'd held onto to my 1976 CJ7. Black with the brown Levis interior and top, plus white wagon wheels. I drove it year round around the OU campus in Norman, OK back in the day. Top was off most of the time. I used to wear ski googles on the coldest days to keep my eyes from tearing up. Where the heck has the time gone.

Looking forward to starting a new chapter with the Bronco on the other end of this life.

I actually got pissed one day with the old carb in that CJ and did the 4.0 MPI conversion on the 4.2 engine block. So it actually has quite a lot of pep, even with the 4 speed. Starts up every spring without issue, don't even have to pump that gas. It's been a great vehicle and since I have bled a lot in the engine rebuilding it, its kind of part of me now. I plan to keep it along with the Bronco.

It's amazing from the rear view how much narrower the CJ is.
