I am buying the 2.3 for fuel economy and gas mileage.
Real world MPG should be very similar for both engines, they’re both very similar in size, the 2.7L should have the advantage since it shouldn’t need to stay in boost as often. Eco boost is either eco or boost, it can’t be both.

It’s literally 0.4L difference, let’s not pretend our choices are between a 2.3L and the 7.3L.
Almost 30% increase in torque from the factory is a huge difference.

I'm buying the 2.3 so I can get a manual transmission.
I just changed my vote to be official as well... :( 2.3 is the choice for me

The 2.7, because I'm more mature now, and go by the old adage "there's no replacement for displacement." :)

So I have had a Fusion Sport for awhile and it has the 2.7 motor and 6 speed auto. I absolutely LOVE this motor. It has loads of torque, its incredibly smooth, and gets great MPG when out of boost.

I have a 93 tune and also an E30 tune where is just turns into a wild animal.

For this reason I am most likely going 2.7, but it KILLS me I can not have the manual.

I am going to test drive a ranger and an f150 2.7 today to get a feel for both engines in truck formats. Unfortunately I can not test the manual 2.3.

PS: A GREAT tuner for these engines is UNLEASHED, Torrie is the man and you can not beat his customer service and tunes. I have already been discussing a tune for my Bronco.

2.7L for me. I am addicted to acceleration as my other cars are a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with the 5.7L Hemi and a BMW M4 Tuned to nearly 500 HP. I also recently had my old 1981 CJ5 recently rebuilt but swapped the I6 for a fuel injected AMC 304. I have never owned a Ford so am looking forward to what kind of tunes the Ford community supports. Based on comments here, it looks like we will have some options to inc. HP a bit. Torque is already impressive!

2.3 because I really want a manual. I still have time to change my mind?

If the 2.7 is less than $2000 I’ll probably do that.

If It’s close or slightly above I’ll have to think about it.
I think it'll be more than that, but if it is $2000, I might switch from the Wildtrak to an Outer Banks, add Sasquatch, and save a bunch of money.

Going with the 2.7 because I’ve been driving an f150 with a 2.7 for almost 5 years now with not problems and because ford can’t seem to build a 4 cyl with out problems.

I'm going with the 2.7 for several reasons, torque being one.

When I ordered my 17 F-150 I test drove the 5.0 and the 3.5 Eco in the same truck configuration, and I went 3.5 EcoBoost for the quicker acceleration, higher towing capacity and better mpg. I really like the engine. My Son in Law has the F-150 Crew cab with the 2.7. I'm impressed with it. Works very well in his truck.

This leads me to believe it will be great in the Bronco.
