Came across this post on a 6th Gen FB page. Hope everyone got a signed purchase agreement when they ordered their bronco.

No, it's not. But taking someone's reservation that they paid for straight from their hands so they can milk more coin, is certainly different than a regular markup. (Adm should have legal constraints put on it in general too. I think it's one of the auto industry's biggest cons, if not THE biggest)
I agree this is unscrupulous because its a "reservation", but ADM is not a con there is no legal issue here. Its no different than a dealer charging $70K for a rusted out vintage Bronco, or 64 Chevy or whatever. MSRP is just that, you do know what the 'S' means right? Its very common when a car manufacture is fortunate enough to have a smash hit for dealers to sell well over MSRP. Remember the Mazda R8 -- they are worthless now but dealers were asking crazy prices when it first hit our shores. If you think the government should set vehicles prices -- I hope you liked the Trabant and Yugo because that is all you will have. The nut cases in Washington already said cars will be for "essential use only", do you think they care if you have to pay MSRP for a Bronco? Seriously dude they don't want you to have it.

Dude.....to borrow a line from a movie.......its not personal, its business.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do. I hope you and others get your Bronco's and for the price you want it for. I'm sure when supply catches up with demand prices will stabilize and I wouldn't even be surprised if two years from now there's a thread called......"Why did I loose 35-40% of my Bronco value even tho its in demand?" or "This dealership is selling Bronco's for $2500 off retail, whats up with that?!"🤷‍♂️
I actually did… for 1k under invoice. What you unsurprisingly fail to understand is that that individual paid that dealer through Ford 100 dollars in exchange for the rights to retain the ability to purchase that Bronco when it arrives to the dealer (thats what reservation means;)). Not sure why you’re reading into it so much? The dealer kicked their reservation to the curb by refusing to sell the vehicle to them and is attempting (or attempted) to sell the customer’s vehicle to the highest bidder. That has NOTHING to do with supply and demand, that is THEFT. That is you purchasing something at the store and the cashier refusing to hand you the item you agreed to purchase just because the guy standing behind you in line is willing to pay more for it.

!!!!!!!!!!

Guaranteed they didn't establish purchase price in writing at ordering. Brutal
We do not know the story behind the FB post. Did the person who posted this have a signed agreement in place? Did he have proof of converting his reservation into an order? If he does have these, he is in a good spot to get compensation for the dealership breaking his contract. If he has nothing in writing, he is S.O.L., unfortunately.
With the known demand for the Bronco, I do not understand people who still have reservations and have not yet converted it into an order or have in writing that you have delayed your order for a 2022 model. Having just a reservation at this point is asking for trouble...

Yes there are some with values, probably most. But we will hear of the bad ones here.
New Bronco and people wanting to move to Idaho. I have decided I do not want to have to get into a bidding war with people with more money than me for a house that is already overpriced. So for now i am not moving. So for now I am keeping my JKUR. Things will change and I'll be able to make the changes. For those not willing or wanting to wait, good luck. I am sure the prices of the Bronco will go up but so will the options, quality, and availability.

I got a signed price when I made my reservation put down the deposit. Isn’t that a normal thing. We could all give them one star on Yelp until they change their mind

And a 20 something-year-old should know all of this. Like most of us when we were a young age we’ve learned the hard way and now she has to. But unfortunately so many people have responded in such a way that It is sickening. The dealership that took advantage of her and the ones that while take vantage of the next person that walks in the door next, bottom line they’re just conmen and thieves. Integrity ,communication, Open and honest is something extremely hard to find with any car dealer.Yes I know there are a FEW. In my opinion it’s time for the moderators to take this thread down I don’t think any of this is healthy for any of us there seems to be a great divide between what is ethical and what is acceptable for the greedy few IMO ☹

In California, it's illegal to sell a vehicle above an advertised price unless that advertised price had an expiration date that has passed -- does anyone know how binding an email from the dealer confirming "We will sell your Bronco to you at MSRP minus $500" would be in this scenario?

I agree with you on all aspects. The dealership is unethical, period. I really hope that she is able to shame them into respecting her reservation/order and most importantly, the price!
