Yeah looks like dealer holdbacks obscure things. They pay Ford $x invoice, but then at the end of the quarter, Ford sends them a check that makes the effective price paid significantly lower. Hmm. Seems pretty shady and tbh the fact that I'm legally banned from purchasing something from the manufacturer for no apparent reason is a pretty strong basis to be suspicious.I have to call bullshit on that thin margin, on average a dealer‘s overhead is 10-15% for each new vehicle, that magical invoice number they are more than eager to share with you is less than 8%. You will not find on the internet what an actual dealer pays per car, for those that want to dispute provide screenshots of actual invoices paid by a dealer to a manufacturer.
