I have to call bullshit on that thin margin, on average a dealer‘s overhead is 10-15% for each new vehicle, that magical invoice number they are more than eager to share with you is less than 8%. You will not find on the internet what an actual dealer pays per car, for those that want to dispute provide screenshots of actual invoices paid by a dealer to a manufacturer. Have you ever pondered at the number of lobbyists the dealer organizatipons have working for them, or how laws protect the dealership model? on Clark.com you can read “The eye opening truth about dealer invoice prices”.
Yeah looks like dealer holdbacks obscure things. They pay Ford $x invoice, but then at the end of the quarter, Ford sends them a check that makes the effective price paid significantly lower. Hmm. Seems pretty shady and tbh the fact that I'm legally banned from purchasing something from the manufacturer for no apparent reason is a pretty strong basis to be suspicious.

Fuck that dealer, they can choke on that 20k. I will drop this if it hasn't already which is directly from their website:

Um…..anyone else notice the OP says they ordered the Bronco “online”? That’s not how it works……not at least here in the States……you reserve “online” and then have to place the order in person at a dealer of your choice…..at the time of ordering you and the dealer will select all options and the price will be calculated……then a order sheet will be filled out with said price along with dealer prep and any local tax and title costs…..then it will be added up and the finial price agreed on…..both dealer and orderer will sign said order sheet locking in the price. So I’m calling BS on this whole thread…..
In a time of covid a lot of folks never even stepped foot in the dealership.

I saved my B&P as a PDF, e-mailed to to my dealer, they texted me a copy of the DORA, then put in the order. Ford e-mailed me the next business day.

I was just referring to the fact that a lot of states have laws prohibiting car manufacturers from selling directly to consumers. These laws require that you buy a car through a third-party (e.g. a dealership). Even if I called up Ford and both me and the Ford agent agreed on my purchasing the vehicle, the laws in these states would come in and say we can't make that transaction.
