I picture it as a large JBL Charge that isn’t portable. It’s already been stated that it connects via Bluetooth, correct?
I believe this is the same soundbar as on JBL site and Crutchfield's, but waiting confirmation from my dealer. See my posts on page 2 and 3 of this same thread. I believe it has three connections, RCA, bluetooth and a 3.5 jack...the RCA jack hooks to head unit, the bluetooth overrides the RCA when connected, and the 3.5 jack overrides both if connected.

@Tricky Nick

I’m not too sure about that…but, then again these guys don’t seem to know what they’re talking about either.

make friends with some fabricators. make a sound bar with the speakers as close to your head as possible. there is no other way for good sound in a soft top or convertible. no - other - way.

Good quality earbuds/headphones... lol

I believe it will just be a matter of using amps that can take line level input. Seems almost all amps do these days.

Thanks for the links @Tricky Nick. Looking forward to the first person to report back on install. It's certainly a cumbersome piece of equipment - but, if the wiring/connections work the way you describe - that opens a world of options.

It also hasn't been disclosed why it DOES NOT work with the upgraded B&O system....

Really dumb question(?): I am interested in adding Bluetooth headrest speakers; like BOSE has built for the OEMs….. But I am wondering if this is something that CAN be added as a DIY or at a Car Audio shop, and IF it can be added, is it worth it? Anyone have any experience with the Mazdas or Nissan’s that come factory equipped with this?

This made me take a look, and I saw this in the Owner's Manual:
Ford Bronco Base Sound System Upgrade/Build 1626478652628

Someone thought about it at least. But also, since the headrests are otherwise removable, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect someone to come up with a replacement headrest with speakers and a wiring kit of some sort. Worst case, get some used headrests, rip them apart, make them the way you want, then work with an upholstery shop to recover them in the right shade and type of material so they look OE.

I had a Miata that had them. Upgraded the paper OE speakers to a good set of Blaupunkt polycarbonate ones I got from Crutchfield way back in the day. In my Wrangler, I added them, but they were more small speakers in tiny boxes angled inward a bit in a 'saddlebag' cover that went over the headrests and the wiring got tucked under the seat covers I used. It made for a wide headrest, but was great on topless days on the highway at the same time.

Yeah, cannot confirm it yet, but believe mine was built today, so should be able to confirm either way in about a week a few weeks, maybe.

Anyone else planning their audio upgrades yet?

Soon as I get my Bronco, I'm going to pull and measure the speaker mounting dimensions and start planning a build. Maybe someone will get theirs before and can get this info out to the public. One of my concerns is that the 4" speakers in the back just are not big enough to provide enough sound. Especially for the 4 door Broncos. That leaves you to pretty much need bigger housing to fit a bigger speaker. That means giving up some cargo room though and hindering your visibility a bit.

4" speakers should fit in the dash and rear pods and I can get some nice 6.5's for the kick panels.

Currently thinking all Polk Audio for the speakers

DB 402's and 652's for the kick panels.
the 402's will work great but for the kick panels i would go with the Polk Audio MM speakers .... a bit pricier but MUCH better in sound quality.

What I need is the bolt pattern and weather sound strips would help?

Just came across this in post on FB where someone has already swapped out the base speakers and added a sub.
Seems like a relatively simple upgrade, though I have a hard time personally justifying sacrificing cargo space for a sub.

I'm planning to get the 4 door obx base stereo, 6.5 component set in front with German maestro or hybrid audio speakers. Running active (no passive crossover), audio control amps with built in dsp, one ten inch sub. Maybe get better pods for rear speakers. I like stealth setups and finding space for the sub will be tricky since the back seats move down as they fold down.

Bouncing ideas around while surfing on Crutchfield and I think I have my preliminary build figured out. The product model number is a link to its page on Crutchfield.

Front Speakers: (Dash) Kicker 46CSC44 $60ish

Front Speakers: (Doors) Kicker 43DSC6504 $80ish

Rear Speakers: Kicker 47KSC404 $90ish

Subwoofer: Kicker 48TRTP122 $320ish

Amplifier (Main speakers) Kicker 46CXA360.4T $220ish

Amplifier (Subwoofer) Kicker 46CXA800.1T $270ish

Line Out Converter: AudioControl LC7i $200ish

All subject to change of course if my Altcoin investments ever turn more bullish LOL.
I like what you did, but did you try the compare sound option on Crutchfield? The Kicker speakers you had and about the same price JL C1-crazy ability to notice difference. Also never heard of AudioFrog but if you spend $$$ wow that is even more noticeable.

I was just about to bring this post up.

TLDR:
Focal 100AC X4
Focal 165AC X2

The 6.5's required adapters to be mounted in the kick panels.

Thinking about these:
6 1/2” Focal IC Ford 165 X2. No mounting adapter or wire adapter required.
4” Focal ICU 100. X4. Probably will need mounting adapter if current speakers have 3 holes and wire adapter.

I purchased a JBL Bass ProGo and hope to finish the install this weekend along with replacing all of the stock speakers in our Outer Banks.

Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram or know which wires are positive and negative for a high level amp input? Or if the High Package has RCA outputs? (Wishful thinking on the outputs)
