Well my Big Bend Bronco order arrived today but still not sure what to do with it. The dealer converted my reservation to an order and due to some mis-communication, ordered it without any options meaning it came in with the manual transmission. Even though I tried to get it changed for weeks before it was built, once the VIN was assigned I was out of luck apparently. So now take the manual or let it go and probably my dreams of having a bronco sometime before 2023......
I’m guessing it ended up being cheaper than you expected, so keep your eyes peeled in the surrounding Ford dealerships to do a trade when one you like shows up. Trade your current big bend, for new. Or list big bend as private seller/auto trader youll clearly be a better deal than most dealerships. Then if one shows up get that one. I wouldn’t want to let the dream of the bronco go either.

Do not settle. Get rid of it and get what you want; you will be much happier in the long run.

Odd situation that sucks....its still a lot of money for something you didn't want

You say some miscommunication involved.......was it all on the dealer side or yours as well? Sounds like you tried to change at some point but by then it was too late.

Where I live in Cook (Crook) County Chicagoland, the tax on a 40k Bronco would be $3,300. Along with some other fees. I think technically I'd be taxed on any "capital gains" if selling for more than I paid as well. Plus there is the hassle factor of selling a car, and things don't always work out exactly as planned. Yes I think resell could make some money, if done fast and with the right person (sucker). But there are down sides. If the OP, I'd rather have just gotten the Bronco he wanted and now be making memories with it.
Wow, that’s a harsh tax regime. Welcome to the world of massive government debt and the old plan of taxing people to death to pay for the stupidity of the people spending our money. Sounds like that won’t work for you/OP.

I was trying to make the best of a crap situation, understanding from the OP’s post that he’s stuck with this particular rig unless he re-orders and goes to the back of the queue. IMO, a Bronco in hand is much better than waiting to get one, but yeah, I too feel his/her pain.

I’m really failing to understand how this happened. Not that a dealer messed up, but that nothing has happened to right the ship. If you have proof that your dealer ordered the wrong spec you have recourse with Ford. Don’t take delivery and raise a holy shit storm. Start googling Ford regional sales managers and bother them until this they do something to get you to stop.

I’m pissed on your behalf. If I were you I wouldn’t just accept it. Email Levine, start bothering people until they do something. No shot with how important this launch is Ford wants it getting out that their idiot dealers are screwing their customers this hard by not even ordering the right vehicles.

There are times to follow the process laid out by Ford, but this isn’t one of them IMO.

I can drive stick, just been a lot of years. The wife cannot how-ever if we ever need to trade to pick up the kiddos or somehting (got 4) and my work commute is a lot of stop and go traffic so it just wouldn't be terribly enjoyable, but did it when I was much younger.
I hope she's not incapable of learning... This isn't like learning advanced nuclear engineering. Have someone teach her to drive stick.

The OP has only posted five times on this forum. Has he explained the “miscommunication?”

I’m starting to wonder if this post is a clever way of fishing for premium offers on a Bronco he has intended to flip from the start.

I’m alittle confused on how this would even happen. At time of order you would have got email listing the order and what it was. Also during the amount of time from order till vin this would mean you never checked on your order online?
If it’s been your dream and money was put down you would think at some point you would check. This is also why I think it should have been $1,000 or more down so that issues like this didn’t happen. Seems like with only $100 on the line people didn’t care as much. Ok rant over
Yes thats part of the mis communication I guess. They converted my $100 reservation to an order without ever talking to me. when I started getting the emails and taking note it was still weeks away and I assumed I was to go in and configure it, that was not the case and each visit or call was a " let me check with our rep" kind of response. I think the dealer only got 4 orders total and just was not equipped to handle and I have never ordered like this before, only bought off the lot or dealer transfer.

The only thing I'm trying to understand, and I mean this sincerely:

Why did you take ownership of a vehicle you didn't order?
have not taken ownership yet, they let me drive it a day or two while sales man was off. i really want to love it and it is a heck of a nice riding vehicle, much better than my old 06 LJ Rubicon.

I'd probably still have taken delivery like OP did, see if I want to enjoy it as-is until I can get the correct one OR just flip it for mucho dinero
exactly, faced with 80% of what you wanted or waiting another several months at the end of the line is the current question.

Exactly, you got it. take this and learn to love it or order another and go to the end of the line.
