I second the Mike Levine reference. You might be doing yourself and the other order holders a favor by contacting him and asking him to look into it. Your dealer may understand the error in their judgement a little bit better after communicating with him. Mike is a good guy and will definitely do whatever can be done to encourage the dealer to follow through with previously agreed upon pricing.

Yeah a mustang -e buyer complained to him on Twitter about a markup on the mustang-e and he handled it.
He and Ford know how important both these launches are and won’t let dealers squander buyers from the brand. Big picture.

I’ve always assumed dealers do the ADM BS with cars they order, not customer ordered cars. I was also in the market for a new Raptor and I did check with the dealers around and all of these greedy buggert are asking 5-10k over. I guess at least it’s good they are openly greedy and tell you up front instead of bait and switch pricing or what your situation sounds where they feel the “market changed” and adjusted yours after the deal

The whole idea of ordering a car special is to order what you want and know the price. I paid an extra “market fee” for my wife’s Telluride recently. It was a screw job, but they are in demand and hard to come by, and I found it at a dealer and did not special-order it.

You of course are correct, but most dealerships are less than honest, as an example, @dgorsett made sure he had consideration involved.

I had some emails and a DORA, but when I got VIN I insisted on a sales agreement and I paid a deposit. I wanted both the dealer and I to have skin in the game.

We all gave consideration of $100 to reserve at a set price. I have not read the small print and don’t plan to. I have enough of that to do at work. Not going to sue over a car I haven’t paid for yet. I’ll just never ever buy another Ford.

With the way OP wrote his post, asking for advice, it wouldn't be defamation. If he just happened to state the dealer's name, then no biggie.

Now if he came out and said that "(Dealer) is trying to steal my money and they're a bunch of crooks" then yeah, that'd be defamation.

I’m an actual attorney but one who doesn’t file a lawsuit over everything. Or act cool on a message board. Have fun threatening litigation in a fit on the dealer lot over the $3000 extra on the Bronco they aren’t obligated to sell you. I’ll buy a Jeep and have fun.

My dealer is too lazy, incompetent, and disinterested to come up with a mastermind scheme to add to my order.

This specifically says “this is not an invoice” so I’m not sure that holds a lot of water.

Not only did I get a copy of this, plus my DORA, I also have a sales agreement with some notes about the trade-in value of my Jeep, sale price of the Bronco, etc.

I tend to not trust many folks when it comes to something like this, so rather be safe than sorry I guess.

Correct. I made a reservation because I want a Bronco. My opinions on Ford small print plus a dollar will get me a cup of coffee. Unless I’m hired and paid a lot to handle litigation regarding the small print of Bronco reservations, I’ll not waste my time reading it. The stakes? Not buying the Bronco if I don’t like it.

I didn’t say it holds water. I’m not building a legal case. If they don’t honor the price on the order preview, I won’t buy the Bronco and I won’t buy another Ford.

I’ve never signed a sales agreement prior to buying a new car from a dealer, and while that contract would be helpful to cement a price that’s legally binding, as someone who deals with legal disputes professionally and sometimes when actually necessary in my own life, I do not deem this worthy of playing Matlock.

I’d have been willing to sign something if they could have told me a delivery estimate. When I converted to an order and even as recently as mid-May when i made the only change to said order, neither my dealer nor Ford could tell me anything solid on dates. I’m not signing shit until the Bronco shows up on the truck. Especially with a dealer who at no time has been able to answer one question or present any idea what’s going on.

If you have any communication in writing, you can take the matter before a judge. The most important communication would be emails stating the price at MSRP. However, if you dont have that, it is my opinion the build order spec sheet... with the price on it is essentially an agreement. Common sense law and a Common Sense Judge would rule in the favor of the buyer. Let them know you be suing... the salesman(personally), the Sales Manager(personally), the GM(personally), Ownership(personally), the dealership and Ford Motor Co.
