Price Protection Extension thru 2023 model year - We'll continue to offer price protection to all Bronco order and reservation holders (as of March 19, 2021) to ensure you will not see an increase in MSRP if you receive an EQUIVALENT 2023 (2022) model year bronco.

Right now i have a 2 door base sasquatch on order. If I were to get pushed to 2022 i was most likely going to up my build, as ill have my truck payed off and have more money saved up for down payment. so my question here is if i change my build when the order banks open for 2022 do i lose the price protection? so does it make sense to just change my build now to a higher trim and options to keep my prices for next year down?

im a day 3 res. only because the damn site crashed and i was locked out of my account for a week (i ended up making a new email to reserve a few days after launch) so im assuming my order will be 2022 anyway.

hope this makes sense to everyone and would like to hear everyone's opinion since i havent really seen this in a thread yet. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure no matter what your build is you will be paying the same price that is listed now. You can change your order, but I think you'll be able to change it again and again until you get a vin with the same pricing that you see now.

Grey area. "Equivalent" is not a precise term. Will they define it as keeping the same trim level? Packages (Squatch added?) no one knows at this point...

I’m wondering the same I have a Base with Sasquatch and if I get pushed to 22 I want to drop the 10 speed auto and go with the manual, I hope that will still hold the current pricing

Ford’s “price protection” is likely just them putting on a condom while they F us with some more great news…

I think the “equivalent” was added merely to make it obvious to people that your price is protected as long as you order the same vehicle. You can’t order a big bend and switch to a Badlands and expect to pay the same price. I have a little faith in Ford on this but I probably shouldn’t.

Based on the way things have gone over the past year with this roll out, it remains to be seen. BY September, MOD tops late my21 availability, white and color match tops in MY22, etc. I feel like there will be an issue with it somehow, but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

I think Ford is stepping up, offering price protection for order holders up to two years out. I don’t know what the Fed is telling Americans about the inflation rate, but up North the Bank of Canada is completely full of sh*t. They are claiming a 3.6% inflation rate when in fact steel prices have doubled, lumber prices have tripled, copper and aluminum are both way up, electronics prices have jumped due to shortages, shipping costs have skyrocketed 300%, housing and fuel and food are all up….. I mean, c’mon man. It doesn’t take a genius to see everybody is paying more for everything; including Ford. When they came up with MSRP back in 2020, they were banking on costs they can’t buy for now. Yes, they are a BIG company; but Ford doesn’t own the mines their materials come out of, let alone the electronics or…. Roofs. By offering to honor prices on “equivalent” orders two years out despite the impact to their bottom line, they are taking some huge risks. What kind of a margin do you think Ford makes on their vehicles? Less than 10%. Volume (and after sales parts/service) keeps the lights on. Does anyone think real inflation hasn’t already hit 10%? It sure has on raw materials…. And there is no way in hell Ford’s suppliers can hold pricing for Ford two years out.

If I was delayed due to commodity constraint, and I really wanted my Bronco and didn’t want to pay more for it, I would NOT play with my order. Ford will have to charge you the future model year price on changes; bet on it.

You can only try! Why not upgrade if they delay you? To me equivalent means a Bronco, not a trim.

I think price protection applies to 2021 pricing for all trims and options. So essentially everything listed now in B&P. Does not make sense that Ford narrows down the pricing just to your trim and options. It will be just too hard for them to manage all the reservations if let’s say customers wanted to change their build which by the way one would have to resubmit their build if they were to order a 2022 bronco.

I do have a question … what is the significance of March 19? Why did Ford pick that date?

“Equivalent”. if Ford decides to get rid of some unpopular trims like Base and Big Bend for “production efficiencies and to streamline…(profits)”, you are forced to order BD equivalent at 2021 BD price.

The 3/19 was the close of the MY21 order banks. The first price protection chose that date as the line in the sand.

And I agree with the premise of equivalent trims/options. If the Capable Bumper becomes available for MY22 and later, Ford isn't going to charge the same as it originally had this past January. I also presume the price protection will not apply to any special editions including the Heritage Edition. If the Mod top ever becomes available, it will be at the new determined price and not what was initially in B/P back in the Spring.
