Yep. On the plus side for Ford, for every one less MIC they make in 2021, that was originally a Mod top order, they save having to give out $1000 of Ford points. If they pick their orders right, it will only be the FE folks that they guaranteed to be 2021's. Like they think we don't understand why they're not pulling any WildTrak orders...or any orders that did the Mod top to MIC deal.

I always knew my Grangtober reservation and order was going to be a MY22, and was hoping for maybe around June. However, after hearing about large numbers of orders either getting pushed to MY22 or people opting to code 99 their orders I'm thinking that there are going to be lots of people like me that are going to get pushed even later into 3rd or 4th quarter 22 or possibly even 23. Even without top/chip/tire/towing/etc. supply problems MAP can only build so many Broncos per month and there appear to be a LOT of 22's to be built.

I hate to say this, but I am a first night reservation, and I have the distinct feeling that it will be at least another year until I get my Bronco due to the top situation. I ordered a MOD top, so who knows if they will ever even make those at this point? I hope you aren't in for the same kind of wait I am.

I was pretty encouraged by PremierDrum's comments this week....sounds like they may have turned a corner with MIC. If the production process is resolved, I don't see Ford allowing labor to be an impediment

It would surprise me if they produced such a small amount of Rangers. At that production rate, they won't even come close to making enough. Over 100k Rangers sold in 2020. I'd suspect more in 2022 will sell if they have them.

I know it all feels like doom and gloom at the moment, but the world is just now emerging from the nasty effects of the pandemic. The motor is slow to re-start, but once it catches, it will come up to speed rsther quickly.

Fords inital forecast for the Bronco was 120,000 annually. Around a 1/4 million for the "Bronco Family" - (Sport and Bronco).

The plan WAS to over produce the Ranger for a few months to fatten up supply and then run the 80/20 split to get the Bronco caught up.
Chips and Webasto had other plans.
MIC Tops will get worked out soon, the chip issue may linger a bit longer, but as time goes on, things will get better on the supply front.

At full swing, on a 5 day work week, they could produce approx 250,000 total units a year.

Across the Ford line up, for the past several years, they have been making a move to produce sold units as soon as possible. The days of a custom ordered unit just being thrown into the mix and having to wait half the year for it are going away.

Using that info, it wouldn't surprise me that they only build a minimal number of Rangers until the Bronco back log is is mostly gone.

Come August, when they hit max production, there will have been a boatload of Golden Emails sent out by then, in preparation. Folks will be getting their emails left and right in July.

They could have sent out a few different emails instead of one bulk email. The day 1 reservation holders got the same email as Oct holders. They should at least be able to give day 1 reservation holder a FY or a Quarter.

They probably could have given everyone a conservative estimate of FY or quarter. The reason they didn't do that is because people wouldn't like what they read, and it could lead to mass cancellations. The way they did it, people can still believe whatever they want to believe about when they'll get their Bronco.

Excellent points. There may be other funny things going on also. Seems to be regional differences that can't be simply explained by commodities or priority orders. Lots of hardtops to Canada, some dealers getting nearly all of their early orders filled, other dealers getting only their later orders filled. But this is all anecdotal and may mean nothing.

I was surprised that there wasn't an incentive offered to switch to soft top, but some dealers are probably overjoyed that they will now get lots of dealer inventory in 2021. Many decisions in the last year that adversely affected reservation holders has benefited big dealerships. Xplan, allocations, priority orders, 2021 dealer stock.
