As long as Ford stock continues to have days like Friday(+6.8%)nothing else matters. This is twice now the reservation system has paid off in a higher share price for Ford. Time will tell if it actually converts to cash or ends up a house of cards. You have deliver on all the hype at some point.
Couldn't agree more! I bought my 100 shares last year because my dealer committed to honoring X-plan on my First Edition. I got it for $4.64 a share. I'm definitely not going to complain when it's now trading at $13.33. It gets here when it gets here. Then maybe I sell the shares and use the profit on accessories. I guess the bonus is it will be Long Term Capital Gains.

To cut through the bullshit, and summarize what is happening

Lack of MIC tops and Ford attempting to still fill all FEs in 2021, and there’s no telling what’s left for everyone else. For those without an FE but with a MIC top - the way the system is setup (paired with MIC shortage) has created a dynamic that its a race to get picked before you fall off your dealers allocation list for 2021

Maybe a Day 1 allocation loaded sas MIC stillhangs on towards the end of the year. Or a Day 3 reservation that’s a simpler build with a MIC

My day 1 loaded sas MIC of absolutely no surprise has naturally moved to the #1 allocation. And that’s only because builds in front of me (and behind me) were picked. I plan on staying there for awhile while the dealer has simpler orders pulled. Any other early reservation holders here will likely find themselves close to or at the number #1 spot as well. Then it becomes a question of do I get picked before the allocations run out. Don’t forget. Dealers have 4x the number of orders to allocations. So you have to think of all later simpler orders ford can choose from as well

Here’s what it could look like for an early loaded build

March - #10 allocation spot of 50 allocations. 200 orders to choose from
April - #5 allocation. 10 builds picked (5 in front of you, 5 behind you). 40 allocations left. 190 orders left
May - #1 allocation. 10 builds picked (5 in front, 5 behind). 30 allocations left. 180 orders left
June - Still #1 allocation. 10 builds picked - all simpler builds or soft tops behind you. 20 allocations left. 170 orders left
July -...and well, you get the idea...this continues until you get the green light that the factory has a MIC top for you, as well as the Sasquatch package etc. And it’s a race until the dealer runs out of allocations for 2021

the worst scenario is you have a loaded sas mic, and the dealer has 5 builds just like yours, and they are allocations 1-5 and you’re stuck at the 6 spot.

This has become boring and depressing. :( I feel like we have been stuck in neutral if not reverse for the past six months. If Webasto and whoever else can’t get the job done in a reasonable amount of time which they obviously haven’t been able to do so far then Ford needs to kick them to the curb and find somebody who can.
I kind of agree with you. The hope and excitement seem to have waned recently.

One thing I just realized is that the mannequins should be getting delivered to the dealers soon so at least we have a test drive to look forward to.

Ford doesn't even need to offer a lesser cost equivalent to the MIC. Bestop soft top for the 2-dr is $1600 for the vinyl and $2300 for the twill (rounded up). If Ford offered the difference in cost to option one of the two, there would likely be some takers. If Ford needs to recoup the plumbing/electrical hookup cost for future MIC delivery, then tack on $100. There are some buyers that don't care for the hookups and would rather just not have their 2-dr delivery held up because Webasto can't make the MIC in sufficient quantities.
What makes you think Bestop can make enough soft tops for production?

I can be patient however ford needs to step up to keep interest. Little dribbles of info and sightings along with teaser videos from the off rodeo just aren't doing it anymore. For all the almost year long reservation/order holders that have stuck it out through the delays and miscommunication there should be some additional perks. Open up the rodeo's now regardless if you have a vin. I'm tired of the BIG NEWS being a wildtrack parked next to a badlands! I want to see, touch and drive one. In the meantime I'm going wheeling with my jeeps this weekend so not really thinking about Bronco....which should scare the heck out of Ford.

With no soft top availability for the 2 door I have been considering changing to a four door with a soft top. Now to keep it around the same cost, I am also considering going 2.3/MT. Maybe, just maybe, this is what Ford wants us to do. I am not calling it a conspiracy, lol, but a underhanded marketing strategy IMO.
I'm hoping the whole hardtop fiasco means Ford will offer me the Bestop twill fastback top for my 2022 2-door at no extra cost.😍

I really like it, but don't want to pay the extra $2k+ for it.🤨

Where did you read that they are only supplying 100 tops a day?

This is my greater point...this forum acts like an old ladies sewing circle, with gossip and rumor spun into a larger conspiracy.

Maybe I am unduly optimistic, but will be shocked if this is an issue that substantially impacts deliveries.

We will see.
I don’t need to read anything except our sale orders as a supplier 😉

Maybe if it's offered, Bestop soft tops and Webasco MIC combined would be enough...

As long as they don't allow the dual top option for awhile until production catches up to demand.

Ugh, reluctant program manager in the military. Not sure how similar civilian acquisition programs are but early on in the system engineering life cycle you’ll write a statement of work which specifies what items the contractor is responsible for delivering. Within that contract it’ll stipulate reasons for termination of the agreement. Usually there are a lot of things that would have to be missed to cancel the contract. Also usually there’s a timeline spelled out. There are allowances for schedule slips. Contracts take months to iron out so if this manufacturer/contractor would need to be replaced it would take time to re-issue a new one and the whole process would restart.
Ugh I miss just working outside of acquisitions.

it's gotten to the point that my neighbor takes great pleasure in asking me when my truck is going to show up, and then laughing hysterically as I threaten to throw a beer at his stupid truck-owning face.

"Hey HotdogThud, when's your truck going to get here? *giggle*"

"I hate you so much."

WTH those are pricey soft tops from Besttop. I don't need some Cadillac soft top. (The top doesn't even include doors for those prices.) Hopefully some other maker releases a soft top under a grand.
Being in a hot, sunny place... I DO want a Cadillac soft top.

It makes more sense here to have a really good soft top to keep out the heat and the occassional monsoon storm and hold up to the UV damage and easily be ably to open or ditch the top the rest of the time.

In a perfect world my Bronco would have a heavy twill soft top in either tan or an off-white natual canvas/boat sail color.
