The Gov is giving people 600 a week, and california is giving them an additional unemployment of $350 a week, that's $3800 a month, that's over $23 and hour for 40 hour weeks. So why would they get a job for $15
Unsure if this is accurate:

How much does California unemployment pay weekly?
Weekly UI benefits range from $40 to $450. You can get an estimate of your benefits here. With the massive federal COVID-19 relief having recently been signed into law, the benefits boost has been revived at $300 per week through March 14, 2021.

I believe Wisconsin is less than CA.

I’ll take mine sans top and McGyver a blue tarp soft top.

I’ll be required to get “Yee Yee” tattooed on my bicep, but hey, it’s been a weird couple years.

Kind of surprised Ford hasn’t bought Webasto and taken over production of the top production!
Where does Jeep get theirs? I see Islanders with white tops on lots right now.

interesting , I found a site that reports max weekly unemployment benefits by state, they seem to vary from state to state by a big margin:

https://savingtoinvest.com/maximum-weekly-unemployment-benefits-by-state/

Wisconsin max is $370 divided by 40 = $9.25
Michigan max is $362

Is that Webasto plant in question in Wisconsin?
You need to factor in the extra PUA (Pandemic Unemployment Assistance) of $300/week. It's been extended to Sept. 4th 2021.

So your Wisconsin # would now be $670/40 or $16.75/hr effective pay to stay at home.

It's an extra $300 from the Feds per week with a base benefit minimum of $167 up to $450 from the State. The extra $300 will last until Sept 4, 2021

So who is Webasto and how did they get the contract? Lowest bidder? With or without the virus this was to be a major issue. They are hopelessly unprepared and unqualified to knock out these tops at the rate necessary. And it's evident there is no back up plan.
Amazing how an entire new vehicle program hinges on one company's ability to follow up on what they said they could do.

Yep, the Governor extended it thru Sept, average unemployment is around $300 a week on top of the federal payments, and he just authorized a one time $600 check for those making between 20-50K who were impacted by the pandemic. I have no issue with that as many people need help. My spouse and I make enough and still got stimulus checks, no way to opt out and if you try to give it back they look at you funny. My spouse donated hers to ARC and as my son died from cancer mine went to the ACS. My point was business owners are haveing a tough time filling jobs because the combined payments (along with food banks) are almost, equal, or exceed what they would earn. Some states are starting to question the wisdom of that and 2 have set an expiration date on the Federal payments at the end of June to get people back to work.

At my dealership's Bronco preview event today (same LB & Rapid Red that's been Everywhere) one of the dealer's management staff said Ford & the union had just agreed to add a 3rd shift at MAP for the 4th quarter. That'll crank out some Broncos
we heard a lot of B.S from Ford so dont get a boner over this info yet

Yeah, that is what a lot of people are saying, but you can't make $17 - $21 sitting at home on unemployment, the math doesn't work?? Unemployment works out to be maybe $8?
If it was only unemployment yes, but add in the $300 a week Federal payments and it jumps up over $17, and those payments have been extended again.

I didn't read every page so sorry if this was already stated, but is this fiscal year or calendar year? If fiscal year, what is the current Quarter they are in?

My company Q1 is Oct-Dec, Q2 is Jan-Mar, Q3 is April-Jun, Q4 is July-Sep

A lot of companies follow this same fiscal year for budgeting, performance rewards, etc.

Copy that, thanks! It is always hard to generalize with unemployment benefits, everyone quotes the maximum, but not everyone will even qualify for the max benefit

Yeah, always hard to generalize about unemployment benefits, so different for every person, state, situation, not everyone will even qualify for the max benefit
