You literally put people were getting 17-21 to stay at home, Not hard to "snatch" that and come to that conclusion....
The Gov is giving people 600 a week, and california is giving them an additional unemployment of $350 a week, that's $3800 a month, that's over $23 and hour for 40 hour weeks. So why would they get a job for $15

I’ve seen numerous times folks saying that you shouldn’t spend more than like 30% of your gross income on a vehicle... so for the money Webasto is paying (34k-42k) those folks would be stuck with a 10k-12k vehicle. Then we have all this over priced used market thing going on... so their workers probably just can’t find a good enough vehicle to get to work in to build all of these tops for 50k-70k Broncos. Just a thought, probably wrong as usual

Unfortunately the bottleneck is going to be Webasto producing MIC tops. As of two weeks ago they could only produce up to 40 in a day and that’s only on a good day 😆. Obviously everyone is working hard to ramp production up but finding quality employees remains a huge problem.
At $16/hr from the taxpayers (aka federal govt) to sit at home is a problem

Maybe not even necessarily that extreme, but if we're constrained that much on hard tops, just plumb every chassis with the works for the wiper and washer lines, ship them with a soft top and give people the option to buy a hard top (maybe even at a light discount) down the road.

Hell, I might even be satisfied with getting a soft top too, I just don't want to have that lockout of never being able to have any other top. Give me options to future proof things, and I'll sign up for a soft top right now.

Seems like a no-brainer from a PR perspective to me, but what do I know.
Exactly!

Hopefully because they have some pride and self respect.

lol...people by nature are lazy, want the easy route and don't think about tomorrow. This is 100% the fault of added unemployment. People would rather sit at home even with a pay cut than to work. Watch the idiots that want to add more months when benefits end all the while there are MILLIONS of open jobs and vaccines readily available for the ones who have been using the scared of Covid excuse. People aren't scared of Covid, they're scared of work.

Honestly, I would fly out to webasto on my own dime, take a 2 day tutorial and stamp out my damn own top!...and 10 other 6G users tops if that was part of the deal knowing I'd get my bronco MONTHS sooner. That could actually be a good concept - Webasto should allow customers to mold their own top. Run a tutorial for a group of 6G members, then we roll up our sleeves and take care of our own orders.

There's warning labels on the stupidest things because someone did something they shouldn't have, like drinking White Out or licking a public bathroom floor. I can only imagine what would happen if people could build their own MIC tops... This isn't Build-A-Bear.

I'd still enjoy the opportunity to do this though lol

June 19th in Alabama, and I would build my own top. Hell, if it paid enough I would work there.

One would hope, my Dad was a sharecropper in Ok in the 40's, moved to Texas then on to Calif to farm. Worked every day of his life and instilled in us kids that work ethic. He had a simple rule that has worked well, stand on you own two feet, work hard, and keep your word. I saw him make thousand dollar deals with a handshake. To bad it's still not like that.

That's because the Gov is paying people so much to sit home no one wants to work, we have the same issue out here. Hundreds of jobs paying $17-21 an hour going unfilled because people are making that much at home.
Yeah, that is what a lot of people are saying, but you can't make $17 - $21 sitting at home on unemployment, the math doesn't work?? Unemployment works out to be maybe $8?
