I reserved my bronco back in july 2020. Last month i was contacted by my dealer to work on my order. I decided to hold out for a 2022 model. My dealer stated he would add a “99” code and push the order out till 2022 year model. I just checked my ford.com account and my status is “in store order” and my date of order changed from july 2020 to march 2021. Does this seem correct? I was expecting to see my july 2020 order date with a “99” code instead. Does this seem correct to yall? Just wondering if the dealer took my order for itself and called it an in store order.

I actually emailed the dealer last week to see if i could cancel the “99” code and go ahead and order the bronco this year. The dealer stated he would get back with me but never has. Now my time is up basically for that.

Everything is correct. You reserved the Bronco in July. The order for the vehicle was placed by the dealership in March. 99 code entered by the dealership tells Ford not to build it until 2022 year. You can make any changes to your order until a VIN is issued which won’t happen until your Bronco starts getting built next year.

What if you get your VIN and you decide to change to a 2022 Model year? Can you? Or I changing Model year time sensitive?

Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to remove the 99 code and go ahead and order for this year, but i guess the dealer was not able to since i have not heard back from them.

I don’t believe any changes can be made after the VIN is issued. The only thing you could really do is refuse to purchase the vehicle at time of delivery.

In May when they give everyone an estimate of delivery time will people have official VIN numbers? Or are they giving that estimate before VIN numbers? I'm just trying to figure out if they tell me my 2021 delivery is in January of 2022 if I'm going to be able to just say we'll then I'd rather switch to a 2022 and wait a couple more months.

A few people might but the vast majority won’t have VIN numbers issued until June or later due to where they stand in line at their dealership and having one or more of the deadly six commodity constraint items: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/current-commodity-lists.13229/

Well I would assume then I should be able to tell my dealer I want a 2022 then in May or whenever they give us a timeline? Or does that have to be done by today April 8th?

As long as the VIN hasn’t been issued for your Bronco, you should be able to change your order. The April 8th date was just the deadline for people to convert their reservation to an actual order with their dealership.

My dealer has said when the build schedule comes out in May you can choose to take the 21 model or change it to a 22

You could change that build code to 19 and try for one this year. You'll be out of the first quarter production scheduling, but should be put in line for the next few.
