^^THIS and always get their promises in writing.This.... Most of us have discussed pricing with our dealers long ago. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers...
You good with a hammer and saw? I didn't go to school but from what she shows me....looks like any monkey can screw some bones together.![]()
I could be a surgeon today?
...as long as I also stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
My wife nicknamed my workbench, "The Murder Table" so I think I'm good to go regardless of outcome. You good with a hammer and saw? I didn't go to school but from what she shows me....looks like any monkey can screw some bones together.
What would we do without YouTube? The scary part is they are not all really brain surgeons! My wife is an orthopedic surgeon. You'd be shocked how often she watches surgery videos on youtube in the morning before going to work.
Thanks, this is helpful... when you say "DON'T DISCUSS ORDERING AND SPECS OF YOUR ORDER, UNTIL YOU HAVE PRICING WORKED OUT" does this mean I should discuss MSRP vs. Invoice, X-plan pricing etc. FIRST before talking about build details, options etc.? Just want to make sure I understand exactly what you mean by working out the pricing first...
Thanks! Heading out shortly, i'll report back later how it went. Hopefully I won't be laughed out of the forumsYes, absolutely. I have my appointment tomorrow morning. I have met my salesman 3 times already and have talked on the phone as well as text and email. I know fully what to expect, BUT, money first. Discuss what you are paying and ALL extra fees on top of that. Any mandatory ADM the dealer has. You want to be clear on your out the door cost. THEN, do the order.
You still have some power. The dealer needs people to convert reservations to orders to get a higher number of Broncos built for that dealer. Part of the equation of allocation is orders converted. Now, most dealers aren't thinking that far a head and will let you walk. My guess is you will pay MSRP plus all fees the dealer adds on since you've not discussed this before.
You can negotiate whether the deposit is refundable or not. Maybe make it contingent on whether you make their cut or not and if it is scheduled in May for a MY21 or MY22.
Good luck.
Don't waste your time with these tools. Just find a new dealer and call the 800 and move the reservation. MSRP is the going rate. A small dealer fee is up to your level of tolerance, and that is about it. Don't lose sleep.Update: I just got back from the dealer. It did NOT go well.
The guy I spoke with did not seem to know much at all. I clearly knew waaaaay more than he did just from these forums, using the build/price tool, etc.
I walked him through what I wanted step by step (with him taking notes on paper going to finance guy and coming back a few times) and he came back with the MSRP (roughly the same as what I already knew of course) and then "+5000 AMV". I asked what that was (Adjusted Market Value) and he just basically said it is what it is. He wouldn't break that down any further as to what it included or anything (and sounded like there was another $500 doc fee on top of that when I pressed him further etc.). Basically he just said that MSRP+5k is what they're asking for across the board.
Yep. Walk away and find a better dealer. The world is your oyster.Update: I just got back from the dealer. It did NOT go well.

I said I definitely would not pay 5k above MSRP and he wouldn't budge. He asked if I wanted to keep the reservation or cancel it and I said I want to keep it and would try to find a better deal. I'm in Massachusetts, anyone else in the Northeast have similar situation? Is it just me or does that sound like a terrible deal?
Very disappointed but I guess i'll see what happens, at least i got a mug and a T shirtout of the deal.
If I want to try another dealership do I just reach out to them with my reservation # with my build and see what they can do?

On a side note I test drove the badlands sport they had on the lot just to check it out (before all the discussion above). It was okay but just made me want to test drive the full size that much more.
And it self identifies as "Bad"!@ZackDanger stop giving such good advice. This is exactly what I decided to do 6 months ago and now I'm seeing the Badlands trim on the lion's share of all builds.
I would urge everyone to stay away from BL.....it is by far the worst of all trims. It has major GWVR issues, the auto sway-bar disconnect is unproven, & let's not forget about those carpeted seat-backs! ?
Go talk to other dealers about pricing. This is what you should have done right after you made your reservation. When you find a dealer that has a deal you are comfortable with then you can call Ford Customer service [The number to switch is (800) 392-4375 (ford customer care)] and switch your reservation to that dealer. You only have until March 19th to complete this part and then order your Bronco. If I want to try another dealership do I just reach out to them with my reservation # with my build and see what they can do?
