I suspect that Ford is fine tuning their numbers to maximize profit. Maximum sales don't always yield maximum profits. Anticipated sales volume may require excessive labor and hard costs that makes it more profitable to produce a lower volume for 2021 and 2022.
So in this case, the only way to make more $ is not to produce more vehicles, but rather increase the price of the vehicles being produced.
I went through all of this stuff in business school and as a business owner. Ford probably has 100's of accountants determining the number of Broncos that need to be produced to maximize profit.
