Real question is if I already placed down non-refundable cash to convert to an order, did I score a lower price? Or is my deposit now refundable?

Nah, after going back and forth. Thank you but no thank you. It's been real, it's been fun, but dealing with Ford hasn't been real fun.

I don't blame you, good luck.

Why take anything as gospel in the B&P, they keep adding more stuff and $ amounts. It's a work in progress. It's just a tool to give you an idea what the cost could be. Semper Gumby folks. IMHO

Yeah, my Badlands build increased $3600 or so when adding black modular top and automatic trans... The Wildtrak is now actually cheaper similarly equipped. Too bad I prefer the Badlands interior though the floating roof rack might be worth the price increase!

This made me go from all in to probably out. The bronc looks absolutely killer but the options are all jacked. I’d prefer ala cart so that I can get a black on black base with auto trans, auto climate, auto dimming mirrors, cloth seats, sound deadening top and bottom, and led headlights. I view most of those as safety features and they don’t cost squat to manufacture. That should be the bb. But to get that build I have to pay for $30k in options that I don’t want. I’d also like to add a winter pack with heated seats, wheel, and mirrors, at tires, and dual tops, but that’s only all available in the $60k truck. Adding a rear locking diff would be awesome, but same issue. Subway can customize a sandwich for $5, I’m pretty sure Ford could do this if they wanted, but the cheap options like a wireless charger being spaced through the high option packs tell me they are trying to stretch us up into those packs, which seems greedy to me. And the multicolored seats below badlands may be a dealbreaker alone. I’d bet I’m not alone and that over half of the preorders back out, then the dealers don’t get full msrp. I’m apparently a camel because this auto tranny just broke my back. A wrangler sport s with winter pack has almost everything I want for about $30k. Even a defender is $8k less than this Ford. At least I now don’t have to spend an hour a day on build and price. Someone tell navistar to drop a $45k scout on us, I’d be in.
You are right. Ford can and has done it. Car companies produced vehicles to customer specifications for several decades. And made plenty of money doing it. So why all the bundling, trims, etc, vs company offered customer selected options? Money. They make more this way by analyzing how to get the most buyers to buy the highest trim levels. You can get what you want of course if you are forced into it by inflexible choices imposed by the companies.

My Wildtrak is exactly the same. Hate it for the people but this was to be expected right? They shouldn’t have taken so long to fix it but nobody really thought the auto trans was free did they?

This is like popping balloons or bubble wrap. The point is not to learn, it is to vent. For that, this thread was very helpful.
I love this characterization of what this is.

@Administrator can we start a whole new category and call it "popping bubblewrap"

I love popping bubblewrap! Today has been fun.????

You definitely didn’t score a lower price. They didn’t order anything for you yet but very curious why you went ahead and placed a non refundable deposit already?

Dearborn, Mich - Ford confirmed today that it had received many complaints from the Bronco 6G forum they had nothing to do over the holidays. Ford executives acted swiftly to update the online Build & Price tool so that forum members would have something to do and not be bored over the holiday break. Ford execs further stated that they wish the Forum members Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to opening the order banks for the new Bronco in January. Ford execs confirmed how excited they are and share the forums enthusiasm for the new release!
I would be excited too if I know I'll be getting stacks of extra cash for Christmas. Oh wait .... Didn't I read Congress passed some kind of relief package? Dang, you knew didn't you, Ford.

More bad news for you lower trim folks. It looks like the Modular roof is not available below Outer Banks.
