I keep hearing this sentiment, but it doesn't make any sense to me.

If Ford has capacity to build and sell Broncos now, as MY21s... why wait?

Waiting only pushes off sales (that you'll never make up) and pisses off everyone who would have received a MY21.


Is the argument for it that if you're going to get a MY22 either way, you'd rather no one to get a MY21?

No, 7/14 reservation here (not FE) and I want mine yesterday. But, Im in manufacturing and I know how it's going. It would give them breathing room, less scrambling and the realstic chance to finish strong come delivery time, likely with less post production defects.

Would give me the 200 accessories, the White top flaunted at reveal, road/trail testing feedback fixes, etc.

Maybr make the FE a MY21 to truly be different than the rest and push some vehicles out the door.

Edit: My guess is I wouldn't get mine until October '21 if everything went perfect. Which it won't, and that is just the reality of the current world situation right now. Plus with vaccines coming, maybe they could catch up and surprise us all. Would I be bummed (but not surprised) now? Yes, but understanding... If you told me down the road, that my new baby was delivering a month early, I would be over-the-moon!!

I cannot comment on the allocation formula as I am under a NDA. All I can say is, our management isn't worried about our allocation of reserved Broncos.

Any Day 1 reservation holders now considering going sasquatch to lock it in? Seems like we are now 'privileged' to get a sasquatch. While guys only a week out may not get one until 2022. Or is that like playing with fire putting us at higher risk of delay for something we originally didnt want?

The way it sounded to me was that his whole comment about Sasquatch was only as a "for example"...

As in, if demand for a certain commodity outpaces their ability to source or manufacture it, (for example, if more people want Sasquatch than we have parts for), then it will delay delivery of vehicles optioned with it.

He chose Sasquatch and the 2.7 as examples because he suspects that demand will be high for those... but even he doesn't know until all the orders are in and we're in the middle of production, what types of commodity constraints (general or relative) will exist.

Alternatively, I wonder if the physical proximity to Detroit will help. If I'm Ford and I can move a higher number of vehicles with a lower transportation cost, it seems it would help margin. It would never pass the dealer lobby but i imagine Ford would love for all of us just to come get them from the plant and not have to ship. Many would do it if it meant faster receipt. Allocating a lot to a (relatively) close dealer is a step in that direction

Related but opposite:

I chose my reservation/dealer for the purpose of delaying my delivery, preferably into MY22... not only did it give me more time to save a down payment, but it also gave me a better deal on the Bronco.

And then all these fools on the forum are tripping over themselves to inform me that I'm an idiot because the allocation formula could delay my delivery.

Don't be so sure. IMHO they are reacting to the situation, not being proactive about it.

The Ford rep in the video is a complete imbecile. He has no idea what he is talking about. The allocation process is a "complicated formula". That is code word for "I don't know what I am talking about so I am going to throw a math formula in my answer so that no one will question me". He has no clue and he can't articulate even the most basic of explanations. SMH. The rollout will be delayed again if this guy is a representative of who is in charge at Ford.

Seriously, I want to know how many “just in case” reservations are out there.

Also, I feel like there are more than 6k people on this site. Everyone drop what you’re doing right now and go make sure you added your reservation to the reservation tracker. Those of you with BN accounts need to go remind them over there to put their reservation in the tracker. We need more data/ a bigger sample size. There’s already 3% of the 190k reservations in there. I feel like we can do better and it may help us understand our allocation/generation problem better.

I'd love to be able to pick up my Bronco from the plant. Or, if having the dealer involved is a must, have the dealer go pick it up. And they can even keep the $1495 destination fee. Everyone wins.
