"Custom of the custom, dealer doesn't want it sitting on the lot for a year"

Clearly incompetent. They are not that custom and nothing will sit on the lot the first year even if it was pink.
I would buy a pink Bronco, you are correct.

I cannot comment on the allocation formula as I am under a NDA. All I can say is, our management isn't worried about our allocation of reserved Broncos.

I thought production was delayed by six weeks due to the tops issue which is why ordering was delayed by just as long.
Oh.

Wish Ford would just make the tough decision to do a hard reset and ditch MY21. Amounts to less than 6 months delay. Gives a chance to roll out with full options. Allows them to possibly beat their constantly missed, but self imposed timelines.

Likely you weren't getting yours until then anyway.

Are you saying Ford doesn’t allow you to say what the allocation formula is or what your allocation is?

@Bdockins @Used2jeep @Troy13 @Jroub21

Call a dealer and ask them. Every dealer has the list of reservations held at that dealer. They also have reservation times stamps for everyone on their list. I called both Stephens and Granger and had detailed conversations concerning my 2 reservations.

July 14 -early morning
July 17 - late evening

Both dealers told me:
my July 14 reservation would put me around the 25th percentile on their list
my July 17 reservation would put me around the 55th percentile

Both dealers were confident my July 14 reservation would be an early delivery MY21 (June estimate). They were both confident my July 17 res would also be MY21 (Aug-Sep delivery estimate). This was all BEFORE the recent production delay announcement. So, I am still confident my first res will be a MY21 early delivery, which may now mean July/Aug. I am no longer confident my July 17 res will be a MY21, but feel there's a decent chance with possible Nov/Dec delivery?

MY21 IMPORTANCE?
Ford had previously communicated that MY21 production would be for reservation holders only with NO dealer stock. Also, September 18 was the cutoff for a res holder to be eligible to receive a MY21. Whether your reservation made before Sep 18 actually gets you a MY21 is based on your timestamp AND dealer allocation criteria. With the new production delays, it is reasonable to assume that the number of MY 21 units that will be produced has DECREASED.

MY 22: My interpretation after the video is still that MY22 production will be SPLIT between reservations (orders) and dealer stock. This means that reservation holders that get MY22 units may see other units on lots by or before they take delivery. I assume some folks that would have gotten a MY21 before the production delays may now be getting a MY22.
Thank you for this information. I am also an early morning July 14th reservation with Granger, so it answers my percentile question for my reservation as well.

I cannot say anything more than what I've already said. We're not worried about our allocation.

I keep hearing this sentiment, but it doesn't make any sense to me.

If Ford has capacity to build and sell Broncos now, as MY21s... why wait?

Waiting only pushes off sales (that you'll never make up) and pisses off everyone who would have received a MY21.

Is the argument for it that if you're going to get a MY22 either way, you'd rather no one to get a MY21?

The way it has been explained to me was if you have a late availability item/combination, your time stamp will be carried over to when that option becomes available (i.e., early reservation time stamp equates to first ManSquatch recipient).

You still convert your order in the upcoming ordering window so they can track it. The losing scenario would be if you have a reservation and you don’t transfer that reservation into an order, regardless of item/combination, you forfeit your reservation and will get refunded your $100.
I was told the same and what you're saying makes sense for 2021 late availability options. However, since ManSquatch is now a 2022 option, I doubt it will appear as an option when the 2021 order banks open next month.

Let's say Ford is planning on offering Guard Green as a 2022 paint option. It's not going to appear in the 2021 order bank as a late availability option. It simply won't appear until the 2022 order banks open. I realize that ManSquatch vs paint options is not an apples to apples comparison, but I believe my point is valid.

I'm thinking that the only way I can order a ManSquatch is if the dealer can delay my order until 2022 or if I choose a 2021 late availability option that gets pushed back until 2022. With a 10:30 pm ET July 13 reservation, I'm thinking the former may be possible, the latter not so much.

I am so glad I decided to reserve thru my local, mid size dealer. I am reservation #2 with them so no allocation issues and I am dealing with a place I have a 30 year relationship with.
That's great that you have a dealer locally that you feel that comfortable with. There are no dealers in my metro area that have ever made me want a relationship with them.

GENTLEMAN PLEASE.

Stop this nonsensical discussion.

I clearly win this argument, as I reside in Franklin County.

Here’s the view from my house at this very moment:

Might as well be in Florida at that point.

Dude. I have to drive 50 minutes just to get to the last stop of the commuter rail.
