Call a dealer and ask them. Every dealer has the list of reservations held at that dealer. They also have reservation times stamps for everyone on their list. I called both Stephens and Granger and had detailed conversations concerning my 2 reservations.

July 14 -early morning
July 17 - late evening

Both dealers told me:
my July 14 reservation would put me around the 25th percentile on their list
my July 17 reservation would put me around the 55th percentile

Both dealers were confident my July 14 reservation would be an early delivery MY21 (June estimate). They were both confident my July 17 res would also be MY21 (Aug-Sep delivery estimate). This was all BEFORE the recent production delay announcement. So, I am still confident my first res will be a MY21 early delivery, which may now mean July/Aug. I am no longer confident my July 17 res will be a MY21, but feel there's a decent chance with possible Nov/Dec delivery?

MY21 IMPORTANCE?
Ford had previously communicated that MY21 production would be for reservation holders only with NO dealer stock. Also, September 18 was the cutoff for a res holder to be eligible to receive a MY21. Whether your reservation made before Sep 18 actually gets you a MY21 is based on your timestamp AND dealer allocation criteria. With the new production delays, it is reasonable to assume that the number of MY 21 units that will be produced has DECREASED.

MY 22: My interpretation after the video is still that MY22 production will be SPLIT between reservations (orders) and dealer stock. This means that reservation holders that get MY22 units may see other units on lots by or before they take delivery. I assume some folks that would have gotten a MY21 before the production delays may now be getting a MY22.

Isn't it also true that only folks with reservations before September 18 can get MY21 Broncos AND that your large number of October orders is not relevant to MY21 allocations? I honestly don't see how October orders can help anyone get anything sooner.

This rumor originated from the Allocation Formula Memo. The reference to Sept 18th was just the cutoff date for what numbers were going to be used in the formula when calculating it for each dealer.

It has nothing to with what model year an individual reservation will be.

I am so glad I decided to reserve thru my local, mid size dealer. I am reservation #2 with them so no allocation issues and I am dealing with a place I have a 30 year relationship with.

Being #2 is meaningless. If your build commodity bumps you later in the fulfilment order, your dealer allocation could be filled by the time your Bronco gets built.

For some early delivery is more important and for others saving $2,000 to $4000 is more important. I'm most likely waiting for black mod hardtop on my FE, so looking at late delivery anyway. The $1000 under invoice is the road I will most likely travel, as saving around $4000 puts a smile on my face.

So what happens if your dealer has 1000 reservations converted to orders, they're allocated 500 Broncos and you're #501? You don't get yours till 22 even if your reservation timestamp is super early? But if you were to switch your dealer to a dealer with extra allocations (even though you'd have to guess at which dealers that would be) you'd get yours in 21?

I wonder if/when dealerships will know their allocation amount and if they'll share that info with their customers. I guess dealers probably won't know their allocation amount until after March 19th and at that time it's too late for customers to switch dealers. Scary.

It'd be awesome if Ford used current reservation data to help customers spread out to avoid this allocation trap. Like show real time active reservation count of each dealership on their website (map or dealer search tool) along with estimated allocation based on those reservations.

OR get rid of the allocation thing all together.

My dealer called last week to inform me that I was 3rd on the list and that they would be starting orders mid January which was confirmed in the video, He did say though that they will know their allocations prior to starting to take orders...hopefully this will help a lil.

I completely changed my plans for the FE due to these delay's. I was going to buy in the lower 48 and drive to Alaska, but now with too many possibilities of more delay's, I went ahead and switched to my local dealer. Now I just hope they keep the FE's first, and don't forget about us up here when they decide to lick the stamp and put them in the mail.

I had a couple of early reservations that I cancelled and moved to later reservations because I feared the truck would come too soon. This now seems like it was a bad move. At this rate, I will probably have to get something short term once my Tacoma lease is up or just give up on getting one of the first couple of model years all together and wait it out for a few years until bugs are worked out and prices normalize. On the other hand, with all of these delays, more and more people are going to be dropping out. We'll see.

I said all of this back in October. Post below. Popular builds are good for Day 1 holders out of the gate, and bad for reservations holders possibly only a matter of days out. Below seems to apply to the 2.7 and Sasquatch, based on the video. Same concept.

it will not be black and white. It’s a dynamic question and depends on late availability for whom? A Day 1/2 reservation holder or a later reservation holder? Read below. This is my take how it unfolds.

The fulfillment of reservations will be bundled with like builds and largely be sequential in batches. That means...day 1/2 reservations will be fulfilled based on where you stand in a popularity contest. For example if OBX in navy pier ends up being unpopular and that’s your pick, you’ll have to wait for Ford to go down the list to accrue enough OBXs in navy pier to create a batch order to be fulfilled

Conversely, later reservation holders get the reverse benefit given the gouging of parts during the initial fulfillments for popular builds. Early reservation on a badlands, great. Later reservation on a badlands, bad.

Day 1/2 reservation holders - FE first (simply because - and all builds are identical so that’s an easy batch to fulfill and should be fulfilled first), Badlands second (due to popularity over Wildtrak and ford wanting them on the road). OBX possibly second to last given unpopularity due to poor interior choices. Base dead last because well Ford isn’t motivated at all. They don’t even want to sell or produce a base, it’s just there to market and bracket a lower price point

Late July+ reservation holders - now layer in limitations of parts. Badlands goes from easy to get to hard to get, with delays, given how many parts they ran through producing all the badlands for the early reservation holders. For example they produce 5,000 Badlands with marine grade vinyl for the early reservation holders and now need to wait for more marine grade vinyl
