Why all the hate on the OBX?

Don't think you need a rock crawler in Florida. Mostly flat, and where can you find rocks that you want to crawl over?

I would be driving in sand, limerock, and on trails in the woods which will have a combo of grass, limerock, and mud (sometimes very deep mud). I don't know of anywhere to "rock crawl" here.

I think this forum is full of Judging Judies who think they are on Twitter and need to denigrate people and force them into group-think to get them to comply with their personal choices. get the OBX if you want to BUT change the painted fender flares to black .... it will then pass the smell test to MANY on this forum and will all of a sudden become another capable off roader .... Of course that's if you really care about what the fkng Jonse's think

In getting an OBX and like the painted flares. I think people keep forgetting how easy it is to swap flares if wanted and I bet they will cost close to nothing. The aftermarket company's will be all over making easily manufactured molded flares for Bronco buyers. I bet SEMAwill have at lease 30 venders pushing aftermarket flares.

I think a lot of people are put off by the colored fenders and small tires. But Ford did the right thing by including the OBX as a trim that appeals to folks that are not hard core off roaders. If the look and the quipment work for you, ignore the critics! More options and choices are a win-win. After building the WT, OBX and BL dozens of times, there is practically no price difference between the three with my specifications. The problem for me was in being confined to interiors as there are very few choices from which to choose, and it gets harder when you try to balance the interior and exterior colors. I will probably stay with the OBX because I do not need rock crawling gear and the BL, as much as I like it, has a haloween colored interior with no room for other choices. What appeals to me about the OBX is that it gives me the tech and luxury I expect in a DD and the well equipped offroad equipment I need occasionally. With the SASQ package and steel bumpers and upgraded bash plate, the OBX will be able to do virtually everything offroad that the BL can, minus rocks. To me the OBX as I configured it is absolutely the best of both worlds-again good job Ford! Anyway, buy YOUR bronco and enjoy the heck out of it. As I have said before, there are no bad broncos!!!!!!!

BD and BL have an optional wheel on top of sas, but OBX doesn’t. I feel like that option would solve a lot as I’d assume most would probably be upgrading to the OBX for access to high/lux/leather on a DD. Seems like it would be a win for Ford too. I personally don’t want to deal with aftermarket, and I’m guessing most that are going with an OBX won’t want to either as it’s not directed at the true off-road buyer.

Agree...wheel options and aftermarket flares on the OBX or High + Sig on the BD would instantly solve my dilemma

I'm most likely going obx and I love the matching trim pieces, makes it look complete. Especially the door handles, when they arent body color i think it looks cheap lol

I'm not a hard core offloader, my bronco will spend 90% of its time on road. I want to get into more outdoor activities with my kids and my bronco will be key to that. Just need a vehicle more capable than our explorer. Outerbanks has everyoptuon i want as standard (except leather lol)

I think they did a good job with the sport for the soccer mom's, but it too should not rock the Bronco name, nor should it have the same trim names. Bronco should have been its own empire, without being watered down. Sorry, but it's like putting the rock in a fairy outfit.

Love the one your with. Ford made different Broncos for each of our needs and wants. Go with the one that puts a smile on your face. I'm going with a FE, but think the Outerbanks is a cool ride.

Everything you said except I’m 45 haha. Those fenders in color are horrible IMO and I don’t like machine faced wheels. But you can have what you like and I might hate the look and it doesn’t make a lick of difference. You do you.

My opinion, the matching flares do not work....at all.
18" wheels are too big, not enough sidewall proportion.
Those two throw all the proportions off for the whole vehicle, especially the flares,, which should accent....in my opinion.

I’ve had 2 FJ Cruisers as my DD since 2007. The first one was the Wild Cherry color with the silver door handles, mirror caps, etc. that I eventually blacked out. My current one is a 2014 white with the silver accents. I intended to black this one out as well but have held off due to my Bronco reservation. Frankly, the OBX appeals to me BECAUSE of the body-colored trim, I’m tired of the silver, or even black out, accents.

So like so many have said here, get what works for ya, and when we cross in the Home Depot parking lot we’ll still wave and smile, cause we know what those without are missing.

I think it is the wheels and tires that is throwing most people off. Get some nice aftermarket wheels and a little more aggressive tire and it would probably look pretty sharp
