$500 Additional Required Ford deposit - Coming at order time!

I hope they do. With how far-reaching this launch has been, I think there are a lot of people reserved that have no intention, or means of paying for this vehicle. IE a pipe dream in the form of a $100 reservation that those holding the reservation will take as far as Ford allows them for a low financial barrier.

I know this has been talked to death here, but I truly don’t see any way Ford converts even half of those 165k+ reservations. They’ve got to eliminate those who aren’t serious at some point, why not make it before ordering starts?

Make it $500 nonrefundable. As crazy as it sounds I think that will shorten up the list quite a bit.

Refundable would be good in case something serious comes up. But I'm all for a deposit. More I put down now the less I have to pay/finance come pay-the-piper time.

This was already outlined in an email from Ford. Ford said something along the lines of "expect an additional deposit at order time."

It is still up to the dealers though.

I don't know why anyone would be suprised by a deposit being required.

I won’t see this vehicle for most likely another 10-12 months, and we haven’t sat in one let alone drive one and you think my going to give you my hard earned cash and not get it back..even if it is a small amount like $500

Yep that’s discussing the process. Last time I checked I’m allowed to discuss what other people are doing throughout this process. Discussing what other people are doing ≠ worried about what they’re doing.
