Every single 2021 Ford has the embedded modem, that's what I'm trying to say. It does not require the mid package to have the embedded ATT modem. It does not require you to subscribe to NAV for them to track that modem. If you choose to sign up for FordPass service or NAV service, that's up to you, but you are not buying a Bronco without the modem.
Its not so much about knowing where I am, its about insurance companies raising my insurance rate because they know every time I speed and every mile I drive unbuckled.
I personally think that their songs didn't fit the persona and that they are overrated.

Unfortunately, its NOT up to me. As Ive been trying to say, Ford dealers are forcing customers to sync the phone to their new 2021 Ford "connected" vehicle. Literally doing it for them while they are in the car before they drive off the lot after purchasing.
If that’s true then my dealership is paying the penalty for at least three vehicles ... my Raptor, my sons xlt and my fathers Ranger all have Ford Connect and the dealership never connected it - I use it on my truck and my son does in his, connected days after purchase, but my 81 year old dad could care less and has never connected. And - what if I happened to still be on an old flip phone - makes no sense ...
You had to opt-in with Progressive to have that tracking for that program. Do you have anything that states that Ford shares this information with your insurance company and allows your insurance company to use your driving habits to adjust your rates without your direct consent with insurance company to participate in that insurance company's program?
Your wrong on both. You can absolutely decline to sign up for FordPass services. Yes Ford salesman are pushy to get you to sign up, but they can't make you. The "connected" means nothing here, every single 2021 Ford has the embedded modem. Thats all they need to track you and sell that data to partners. The "Standard Package" is not "connected". Mid packages and higher include the "Connected" system.

Ford has entered into partnerships with some insurance companies to offer plans like what Progressive did with their OBD-II device. You still have to opt-in to those plans as far as I can tell.
No they don’t share it with MY insurance co., yet. They just partnered with an ins co to sell that data to. But that is data that eventually all ins companies are going to want to buy.
