What Gets Annoying Fast When Getting In and Out of Your Bronco?

Honestly it's the vinyl seats cracking over time where you get in and out. I have the leather-trimmed vinyl seats in my wildtrak and the edge is beginning to show some very small cracks. Such a shame the whole seat isn't leather and pretty misleading on my dealer's part telling me that the seats are fully leather.

WeatherTech seat covers....15K miles in and seats look showroom.

Nothing. Bronco is so much friendlier to get into/out of than the Mustang.

Much as I love the 'Stang, my lower back is not pleased with having to crawl into a vehicle that low to the ground.

Hitting my leg on the running boards trying to get in and out of it like a man not using the running boards, or as I like to call them, the shin basher.

No running boards on my Bronco. If I had them, I'd remove them. But every damn time I drive the wife's F-150 the running boards jab me in the ankles.

As a diehard fan and everyday driver of the real McCoy, genuine, original, 2-door Bronco...I hate firmly bumping my caboose on the door frame B-pillar in my wife's Bronco when I employ the same Bronco mounting technique as my 2-door!

Physically, nothing. 33" tires with zero lift from base matches my 31" inseam so my butt slides directly on the seat with no climbing or lowering. Perfectly comfortable.

What does bother me is the question "You were in Sport Mode the last time you drove. Would you like to return to Sport Mode now?"

This is happening when I am fastening my seat belt, taking off the parking brake and other things that one does. Sometimes the question persists and I can click "yes" on the steering wheel, but mostly I switch it to Sport myself with much less effort. It is like starting a Windows computer when every background program is vying for my attention when I just want to get to work.

That and a water spot the size of a nickel just above my right knee. This shows up when I get in, rain or shine. I know morning condensation can collect in odd places, but I am not aware of the front of my right leg coming in contact with the truck at any point.

Should I panic?

My right leg/knee would swipe against the light switch dial and turn on the lights as I got out.
It took some time & effort, but I finally developed the muscle memory to avoid this.

I do that sometimes.

you can adjust them using a 10mm and extension. there are adjusters hidden behind the rubber covers on the bottom of the doomay not be 100% but it made a huge difference when i did mine

A key reason why I sold the sedan life. Had a low slung Mercedes prior to the Bronco (E350), and the older (and fatter) I got, the harder it got to get in/out of. Totally embarrassed myself about a month ago at the Toyota dealership and a Supra on the showroom floor. Couldn’t even get in it!

When shopping for my Bronco, I had learned that the average age of buyers for the OBX was nearly 50 in my area. I learned this when I told the salesman this was going to be my 50th B’day present to myself and to make the midlife crisis official. He laughed and said that he’d met me many many times already. Was surprised however that I didn’t come in to look at the Mustang first….

They put in entirely new, re-engineered, weather striping at the bottom of the window for me. Worked like a charm.
