I’m looking into getting a hardtop for my 24 Bronco.

So- I have a 2024 4dr black diamond. I love that car so much. She has about 39k miles on her with leather seats. However- we had a baby! Yay! But that being said, the soft top is a bit loud for our baby to nap during our drives. I’ve looked at the OEM hardtops and they are quite expensive. About 6 with installation here in DFW at Ford. What’s the best way to find used OEM hardtops or perhaps an aftermarket hardtop? Thanks!

I don't have an answer about buying one but I drove a hard top at the Off Rodeo and it hardly seemed any quieter than the soft top. This was at the Moab Off Roadeo and you drive the Broncos on the highway for 10-15 minutes to get to the trail head. This was in 2021 and their Broncos were super early versions so maybe they've made some improvements, I think production versions started getting carpet stuck to the inside of the hard tops because they were still so loud.

I will have to look into getting ones with the carpet then. I hope it’s at least a bit quieter. I’m really not sure how to insulate it better for a soft top either. I do like the more convenient opening a hardtop gets for the trunk space though

They have improved the seals and added sound deadening. My ‘24 hard top is quiet.

The early factory hard tops had seal fitment issues and wind noise. Turn Off-road has a nice hard top available. Every now and then we see a used hard top for sale here.

That's good to hear they've improved it. I had originally wanted to get dual tops but back then if you had a hard it would delay your order due to the early production problems. I went soft top only to get my Bronco sooner and figuring if it was only $1500 to get dual tops it would be around that much to get a hard top when they eventually became available. Then a long time later they came out and were over $5k I gave up on the idea.

Yes. That’s exactly how I got my soft top. The hardtops were months out and I didn’t want to wait that long. I saw used ones around that I figured I could buy. But I didn’t notice they were only 2drs not 4. So now I’m in a bind if I want a hardtop.

Rallytop is probably the most economical new option (I have one of the older ones, it's nice, notably quieter than the soft top, even without any additional sound dampening). It is made of fiberglass and is pretty light weight.

Turn Offroad is a bit better and works with most OEM stuff made for hard tops - a bit pricier though. I ~think~ this one is fiberglass too, but can't confirm

Armadillo has an all-alluminum hard top. It's pricey, but a very solid piece of kit. If you were doing overlanding/RTT type stuff, this is where I would go.

If you can find a take-off hard top, that's the cheapest. I see them rarely, but they do exist. The older MIC ones are prone to cracking/rippling (they are made out of cardboard after all), and lots of people were dumping those off for a while, but I think most people who were going to dump have since flushed and I haven't seen any in a bit. The newer painted tops don't seem to have that problem, and I have only seen maybe 1 or 2 of those on the aftermarket.

Off all the hard tops - the most difficult part of the installation, by far, is getting the soft top off in the first place.

I saw Rallytops, but I was concerned on how to install it with just me and my husband. We debated ordering it and taking it to a shop and having them install it. Does it bother you that it doesn’t have a rear wiper?
