That’s ok. It was designed for people who do get the point.
I get the "point" Ford sees. That being to use the Bronco's heritage to sell vehicles that are not actually part of it. Just like they slapped the Bronco name on a tarted up Escape.

Wanna sell a 4 door Bronco, that's fine but it is NOT part of the "heritage".

For me coming from a 2 dr base squatch to this 4 dr HE there were more pros to cons of the switch. Only thing I really miss that I can live without were the longer doors.

If anything my bronco looks more like these big boy OG broncos with the longer wheel base of the 4 dr. And I’m fine with that especially since funny enough the Gen 2s sold the most among the 5 generations.
IMG_7090.webp
There is only one "OG" Bronco and that is the 66-77
Which sold more total than the 78/79.
Gen 1's 221,621 to the Gen 2's 181,955

Though the later did come close to the Gen 1's total numbers in just the two years it was available and did sell more each year than any other generation managed to. Despite those high yearly sales, total numbers sold places it 4th among the generations.

Gen 3 - 321,429
Gen 4 - 235,451
Gen 5- 162,703

Looks great! Painted flares are perfect. What size are those K02s/K03s ?
They are 35/12.5/R17 KO3s. And they are really good. They were so good I had them originally on my old 2 dr and I asked the dealer to swap the tires to be put on the HE.

Man, it looks proper and well equipped! Following this build for sure. Loving the vinyl sides and matching flares. The painted flares are one of the items I really like on the Stroppe as well... and that they are flat top like the Heritage. I was eyeing some of the ASFIR skids, although i am pretty well equipped from factory, I do have some areas that could get coverage. I love the bare aluminum type (have a full underbody set on my FJ from Ricochet Offraod in aluminum w/ the LCA skids.) Such a nice look. Definitely thinking of trail communications as well in the future... I'm coming from the CB world of an 08... haha. It's crazy how everything has evolved these days. Especially when trying to upgrade audio! All new to me, but have been enjoying reading up on the forum. Cheers!

Nice personalization.

However I never saw the point of a 4 door "Heritage" model as that was never part of the Bronco's heritage.
And now you cannot even get a 2 dr The red 2 dr manual was very nice.

Yeah I think I probably would have put the money towards adding old school paint (top/grill) on the red one instead of buying the 4 door.

Really Nice! The only mod I’ve done is replace my chunky Plastic red FORD letters with eBay sourced originals from a 1970s Ford truck. Others have done it also. Really amps up the Heritage look.

The original first generation Bronco is a part of the heritage of every Bronco that came after, including the 4-doors. That’s objectively true and should be obvious. Just like 4-door Jeep Wranglers and Toyota 4-Runners have first generation 2-doors in their heritage, so do 4-door Broncos.

So what makes a Heritage Edition Bronco? What’s the only real difference between a 2-door or 4-door HE and any other 2-door or 4-door with the same specs and equipment?

That easy. It’s the color scheme. The Heritage editions feature a color scheme that is an homage to the first generation which they are all descended from.

That’s the “heritage” part of the Heritage Edition. That’s all it is. Not the number of doors, certainly not the turbos, GOAT modes, electronic lockers, touch screens, wifi, etc. It is simply a color scheme that pays tribute to the Broncos that came first.

I thought about continuing the retro aesthetic on the 2 dr but found out that it would be cheaper just to get a HE since ford was offering discounts on the 25s. I got my HE for almost 10k under sticker.

Just to paint the hard top white I was quoted 2k-5k, the grill since it’s textured was 1500 for the white center and paint match border. And the KBD flares I loved but due to the material they are made from to paint would be extra since a normal paint job wouldn’t stick to them. And for Mickey Thompson polished wheels are like 1500 for all 5.. so it just made sense to go with the 4 dr HE. Plus it’s a real heritage instead of a wannabe heritage.

Also the 2 dr was only the 2.3, my HE is the 2.7 with the procal so smoother power delivery and a lot more power

My original post was a compliment to the OP and a simple statement that everyone was free to ignore. The comment was "relevant" because the thread is about a Heritage Edition.

The actual "hijack" was by posters who are defending heritage where there is none. And your own post added to the hijack you are complaining about.

“Heritage” is a just a Ford marketing term for an appearance package. Substitute ‘retro’ or ‘old school’ if it makes you feel better. It’s not about fidelity to the past, it’s about selling trucks. Words are less precise than we like to think, especially when commerce is involved. 😎
