MY 2022 Hold out Risks

What are the risks to waiting on the MY 2022? I have a 2021 reservation, but like many others here, I am concerned I will be penalized for being an early adopter. I can see prices going up a bit, which would be expected, but what about the possibility of discontinued models/colors/options/accessories? One would think they would not make too many drastic changes from year to year...

As long as reservations keep being converted to orders at a higher rate than production capacity, I don't foresee any cosmetic changes.

I added a 2nd reservation just a week ago to cover my bases. I figure I didn't have anything to lose. I'll see how things develop in the next couple of months and then I'll make my final decision in Dec/Jan.

I don't think there will be significant changes. I'm expecting the same colors and interiors, with maybe a price increase and some options juggling.

Worth noting that there will be painted tops in 2022 though.

Odds are heavily favored that the lessons learned in this roll out will inform the next cycle. Ford is getting an earful about the cosmetic and substantive deficiencies of the 2021. I believe there will be better interior/exterior color palettes, including the white top.

I think a couple paint colors will be swapped out, maybe Area 51, CO,Velocity Blue, Antimatter, and Race Red (not all but out of that group). Kodiak, Gem Green, and Magma Red only come out usually for one year and then are swapped out so I would say Antimatter will be gone. I also think some interior changes will be made as well. I have 0% confidence they will change anything this year on interiors. Rims are another thing that changes slightly.

My biggest gripe about waiting for 2022 is when will the 2021 run end? If they go all the way to December with 2021 it will be a looooonnnnnggggg wait for MY2022. Think about waiting 14 more months for your Bronco, no thank you.

I think normally they would change a few more things but the 2021 MY is going to be so short I'm not sure they will. Maybe some paint swapping late in the model year? I can see Area 51 going away since it's Bronco-exclusive. Although I suppose if the Ranger gets new paint, the Bronco will too.

I'd expect a painted white top option ( White MIC as a base/ across the board option isn't happening. Because of technical mold and plastic chemical limitations) and a far better interior color pallet for the Riches.

Mansquatch and a better (less drab across 11 coices) body color pallet for everyone.

They should just create a heritage line.

A single heritage color per year (they would have enough colors to cycle through for the next twenty years). Each year a different color that would then be immediately recognizable as that specific year Bronco. Comes with a white heritage grill, white top and white fenders.

Put me in charge of that P&L and I would make you a mountain of cash, Ford.

Considering reservations made after September 18 are being converted to reservations for MY 2022 (per Ford), the question becomes how long does it take to get that 2022 if you wait.

Two important questions that need to be answered that no one knows the answers to is 1) how many reservations have been moved to MY 2022 and how long will Ford continue those reservations and 2) will Ford fill those reservations in order before Broncos start hitting dealer lots.

at this point Ford really needs to be transparent with it reservation holders and let us know what's really going on. It seems everything is a moving target right know, especially when it comes to reservations and orders.

I can't see things being discontinued that early on. I foresee more additions and options coming, if anything. Plus you'll have more aftermarket options potentially available to you when you leave the lot.
