Yea, so true. Very inconspicuous as well. Not everyone wants a big antenna hanging off their car. Magmount is also very convenient!
If anyone gets a magmount to work on any Bronco top....PUHLEEZE let me know!!!

The 3rd brake light mount is from eBay. It’s for a Jeep. Just a heads up, if you have a hard top, the rear wipers will hit it. Going back to my original config..

This is a custom mount but working with SRQ Fabrications to see if they can mass produce..

I have a couple of bars of Aluminum just a tad wider. I will bend these, and cut these and make my own.

one side will be my CB antenna, and the other will be my 2m/70cm antenna.

for The front drivers side, i a, making a mount for my GMRS antenna, and on the passenger one for another uhf/vhf antenna. Both of those mounts will mount to the DV8 dual light pod mounts I am using for my light pods.

the radioS?

Kenwood v710, Kenwood V71, wouxan kg 1000g plus (GMRS) and uniden 700 series CB

my bronco due to be delivered next week.

Update:

since I am needing 4 antennas installed. Two UHF/VHF, 1 GMRS, and one CB.

I obtained 2 of the mountainsmetal.cm antenna brackets that go on the front A pillar light mounts. Still am able to mount lights. The GMRS antenna will go on one side, and a UhF/VHF on the other.

I have not yet made my antenna brackets for the rear side yet. But I will mount the CB and the other uhf/vhf on the back.

to keep issues down between the two ham radios. I will mainly run one radio on UHF off the back antenna, and the other radio off VHF off the front antenna. Both will still be able to run both UHf/VHF in case one of the radios ever dies. Since both are dual band dual radios. one will allow me to run APRS and monitor VHf stations, the other I can monitor and run two UHF.

I am still looking for better mounting options for the rear of the Bronco.

Well I like how it turned out. We'll see this weekend how well it performs.

Ive been looking at that antennae but was worried it sits so low. I was always told you wanted to be above the roof line. Yours is literally at the roof line, but inside. It performs good there? How is it mounted?

I have the same antenna with a magnetic mount base in the top of the roll bar, which isn't much higher, and I can hit a repeater 20 miles away with a handheld radio.

I haven't had any issues in my application but I haven't tested long range with it. I need to find someone to help me test locations for best placement

Late to the party here I know, but I have been searching high and low for a clean internal antenna mount for the midland ghost antenna and came across this if you have access to a 3D printer

I trialled it this weekend in Mammoth mountain and it worked fine. Next step for me is to hide that wire

That I couldn't say. I don't have the equipment to measure. Subjectively, the setup worked great. On the highway up. And on the trails. Honestly I think the limitation was everyone else's handhelds by the end of the day as batteries got lower and lower.

I'd assume the SWR readings are pretty poor. I saw significant difference between driver and passenger side on the ditch light brackets I am using as my antenna mount. As is with a bit of hood to to reflect signal from, my SWR is poor, but not dangerous. Works well enough though for my needs so I am not losing any sleep over it. Eventually, it will probably get moved and improved but perfect is the enemy of acceptable.
