I am just adding my experience here -
My first top had cracking and bubbling, was replaced with a second top under warranty. That second top had a chip in the corner above the driver door, and it was replaced with a third top. That third top had an essentially identical chip in it, and the dealer agreed to replace it with an 4th top. After 4 months waiting for the new part to arrive the dealer says Ford isn’t covering it. Apparently Ford didn’t cover the 3rd top and the dealer had to pay $7k, so they understandably don’t want to do that again.
Frustrating but trying to talk myself into it not being a big deal… 2nd and 3rd tops pictured

You won't see that chip once the rest of the roof cracks, bubbles, delaminates, etc. Not if but when.

It's been a issue since launch and they still haven't fixed it. Crappy supplier! Just one reason why I sold my 21'. I didn't see the MIC holding up for several more years. I'm not spending thousands of dollars to replace it for a issue that shouldn't exist. So it was no longer worth keeping the bronco any longer.
Mine started cracking after 28k miles 23 badlands. I took it the dealer with the tsb document. They kept it for 4 days and stated they are still waiting on ford. This was at Lindsey ford in the DMV area in Maryland . I am thinking of taking it to another dealer to see if I have more success. Is it normal for ford to take so long to respond to a warranty claim. Not sure if the dealer is stone walling me which I think is most likely the way the Ford dealerships are in this area.

Hello Bronco family. I hoped it wouldn't but it has happened to me. I have joined you, in 2025 with just over 10k miles.
there are So many horror stories about replacement tops that I am considering just going to get mine coated in Line-x before it gets worse.

I had mine replaced under warranty recently. I learned that Ford doesn’t send new tops with glass so the dealer had to transfer my glass to the new top.
I feel like something went wrong with the new top or glass transfer because wind noise from one side of the truck is noticeably worse than the right AND worse than the old top. I just don’t see any obvious reason.

I don’t know for sure. Mine was in for another warranty service and I mentioned the cracking top. When I finally picked it up the service consultant mentioned that he got approval from Ford to replace the hard top. It wasn’t very long after that when he said it arrived but I don’t actually know when he placed the order.

I am going to do line x as well . Concerned with the fading over long term . I heard some sort of premium finish is available to prevent the fading.
Everyone thought I was nuts in the early years of the cracking tops. My only beef about this is Ford has yet to still fix this. It shows that they are concerned about money. End of concern for them. Some customers are OK with the problem, I am not. I have seen Gen 5 Broncos out there with tops that are and will be fine for years to come. Ford needs to step up and fix this little problem along with a laundry list of others before paying CEO salary. Just sayin.......

Update: I received my 3rd replacement hardtop yesterday. It looks good...I pray it stays looking good! My dealership has been amazing, real advocates, very helpful.
