I hadn't run the numbers but alluded to that decision in my first post. Given your numbers there, I'd 100% get non-sas badlands over a basequatch. 300 bucks is a drop in the bucket. For a daily driver, I'd think that I like 33's over 35s regardless.

I don't think it changes anything with the towing capacity, mine tows great but I have the V6.
I towed a 3000lb boat & trailer with a 2.3 auto (4dr Badlands), it pulled it beautifully. That auto transmission is magic.

That being said, if I were to get a Bronco in lieu of a truck, that boat being at the upper end of its tow ratings, I'd get a V6 just for the added grins.

I towed the same boat with my 2dr manual.
It gets it done ok. The 2dr ride is a bit more ... bucky with the towed load behind it. The 7spd manual has fewer gears, so it is a bit sluggish at times.

Some guys have brought up some good points, and to get in line with Sierra, I'll throw this out.

Base with Sas: $51,645
Badlands: $51,975

A non-sas Badlands gives you all the beefed up components that Sas offers, lockers, advanced trans, gearing (manual). You lose the 35s (get 33's instead), and lose a half inch of lift, and some misc items like wider flares. However with the Badlands you gain stuff like washout floors/seats and signature headlights, a couple of pieces of body armor, metal bumpers, aux switches, fog lights.
So if you are leaning towards the Sasquatch package, I'd seriously consider the difference between a non-Sas Badlands and the Base.

This has been the pricing battle since day one.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm Base proud, not really much into the "model pride", but when I had that Badlands for 9 months ..... I LOVED having a "Badlands" in the driveway.
That kind of shocked me.

In the end , I still kept the 2dr ..... they have souuuul.
LOL!

Didnt read all the replies so I may be late to the party

Base w/ SAS is a completely different animal than w/o — almost two completely different vehicles there.

SAS is a good bargain on a Base in general. Will probably retain a lot more of the value in resale value. Front & Rear Lockers, 35" tires on 17" rims, beefier front axles and steering, 4.70 gear ratio -- you are as capable as a Badlands really. And 4A Full Time Transfer Case -- for many people this is the biggest selling point. It's a "Set it and Forget it" bad weather option that non-SAS/BL trim levels do not have.

Without SAS, you are on 16" rims with 30" tires - significantly smaller. 3.73 (auto) gear ratio / 4.46 manual - significantly taller. The kicker - changing gear ratios or adding lockers after the fact will be very expensive - because Ford will weld your ring gears in and prevent you from doing any simple gear swaps. The 4.70 is not welded and can be easily upgraded as any other differential. I don't know that anyone has upgraded to the 4A Transfer Case that didn't have it from factory.

As far as towing - no, only upgrade there is to jump to Raptor -- all options have plenty of power, but the really soft suspension for off roading really is the limiting factor. Raptors have an additional brace on the rear end for a little bit more towing capacity, but even then it's pretty low capacity and almost every pickup will out tow every Bronco.

(Regarding the 4A T-case -- if you plan on flat towing, you may be better off without it - it seems many of the flat tow failures that have occurred were linked to having the 4A T-Case).

I had pretty much decided on the base, but those wash out floors and seats, plus the locking diff.... thank you for pointing that out!

I'd also agree with this - I only really was considering Base SAS vs non-SAS

But this is a very good point.

+1 for badlands manual

The washout floor and 4A get used a lot in my case
You can also find takeoff 35's for cheap if you want and the difference is minimal in lift, maybe a half inch.
may want to also consider that the badlands may have somewhat better resale for down the road

I was in the same boat in 2021 and have not regretted it, although I have a 4-door

Love my 2 door manual base Sasquatch… has everything I needed 4a and aux switches and winch and winch plate already installed. But I was lucky enough to find mine used with less than 30k miles on it. But until I had found that I was looking at ordering a badlands because of how close those two were in price. But really loving cloth seats for the winter. Have had real leather on my last 3 cars and I don’t even feel like I need the heated seats with the cloth. Leather heated seats was a must for me.

One other benefit to the badlands is that you can option the painted hard top and eliminate the potential problems with the mic top that comes on the base model.

'22 two-door base model here (4cyl, manual trans). Dealer gave me an incredible deal on a set of Black Diamond take-off wheels/tires/tpms, and I couldn't be happier with vehicle.

Daily driver, and I'm just about to hit 70k miles.

**my dealership has one '25 2dr base w/manual at a great price --> link

If you reach out to them, ask for Matt Newman!

Long story short, my current vehicle won't last much longer and the only vehicle I am interested in is the 2 door manual transmission bronco, and there are no manual transmissions I have found for sale in 500 miles so I need to order one soon.

It will really spend most of it's life as a daily driver, so the base seems like the obvious winner, but I really like the idea of locking differentials and they talk like the sasquatch makes a tremendous difference in off road capability, but there isn't any solid data I can find. Does the sasquatch affect towing? aside from the locking differential, what am I paying more than 8k for?
I saw this 2025 base Sas 2dr manual for sale if you didn't want to wait and order one. It's almost $9K off sticker too.

yes, exactly this. Badlands gets you all the good stuff the sas comes with except you get better looking wheels, you get k02s which are way better than the gy wranglers, and you get normal sized flares, plus you get the sway bar disconnect. Essentially for the sas as an “upgrade” over the badlands you’re paying like $6k to get a $300 spacer lift, uglier wheels, worse tires, and wider plastic flares (that look extra goofy on a 2 door).

Do you drive a lot of miles? My wife is driving 30k miles a year so we basically bought the base with heated seats, which you wouldn't need in your location. If you are driving lots of miles KISS and keep it simple as each thing you add on can break, wear faster, or has higher replacement cost.
