It runs on an M12 battery platform (sold separately), and if you already have VEGA components, you can grab just the flashlight base and convert a compatible VEGA pod into a handheld light. This has attributes that make it unique AFAIK:

1. I bring Milwaukee M12 tools with me when I head off-road, so having a flashlight that uses the same battery means one less device I have to keep charged.
2. Milwaukee makes task lights using their M12 battery, but none of this brightness and focused for distance.

Oracle Lighting makes lights. So they made a flashlight. Seems logical.
