I took mine in thrice for this issue. The first time they said they didn't hear it. Second time I went there and started it in the morning and they acknowledged the noise and said they would order the parts, 3 weeks later I call for an update and was told 2023 didn't apply to the TSB. Once the TSB changed it was warm outside and they could no longer hear it. Now I'm over 36k miles and living in Florida. I still hear it occasionally but not as bad.

Am I out of luck because I'm out of warranty? My concern isn't now but at 100k+. I didn't change the trans oil when I serviced the diffs because I honestly thought they would accept and respect it. Fool me.
Kinda sounds like your dealer was looking for an excuse to not do the work.

This is why my advice in these situation is always do not pick up the car and open a ticket with Ford corporate.

Everyone's knee jerk reaction is to take their car back when the dealer says to. They're nervous about leaving it there or they don't want the dealer to do x,y,z or whatever.

If your issue is not fixed, do not pick up the car. Ever. Leave your crap on their lot.

The first question Ford Corporate is going to ask you: "Is the vehicle currently at a dealer service department?" or similar. If your answer is no, you've added at least two weeks to getting back to where you were.

I'll remember this. Hopefully the dealer here will be better.

I had the same noise as noted in this thread in my 2024 Big Bend which was built in October 2024. I only have 6000kms on it and mentioned to my dealer at the first oil change this week that I heard this noise when it was colder out. They've confirmed that the TSB has been updated to include 2024 models. They're currently installing the TSB parts, I'll update the thread once I get the vehicle back.

I hope you have better luck with your repairs than I did! Details are elsewhere, but the short version is I took the Bronco in for the TSB service after the dealer “had all the parts” at 9000 km. Suddenly the dealer decided they needed more parts which were backordered and the transmission was already in bits. Two months later, I finally got the Bronco back and Ford made my payments for two months. Within a week, the transmission was far worse than it was when it first went in for the service.

I am now going to try to ignore the noise and try again in two years before the warranty expires. Maybe by then, Ford will have figured out what the Getrag/Multimatic/Magna/Jiangxi partnership did wrong in the first place.

Sorry to hear that, I'm hoping this fixes it for me. If not I'll probably ignore it for a while longer to see if they can sort it out.

Yea I haven't taken it yet. Not sure i want to with that last experience posted. I think I'll change the fluid and look for metal before deciding.

Changed mine, fluid looked good other than being a little dark. Pretty straight forward. I put a plastic bag over the exhaust near the drain so that fluid did not get on the exhaust under the heat shield. It will make sense when you see it. Otherwise, you may have burning oil smell for a while if it gets on there.

Update for those who are still considering the TSB: My bronco had the TSB completed last summer. This winter, I did over 30 ski trips in freezing temps (~8000miles) and no grinding at all. The TSB completely fixed my Bronco. My bronco had grinding right out of the dealer lot.

I've starting to smell this also.
In other news, the bride heard the noise for the first time this weekend during our trip to the Big Smoke and now she's alarmed and concerned, not sure about taking it on long distance journeys. I told her they mostly all seem to do this and nobody has lost a transmission, and when Ford has a fix that works I'll get it taken care of then.
Mine is definitely getting louder.

I'm taking my 2024 Ford Bronco BB 2.3 manual in to be diagnosed this Friday. Received my ride September 2024 and by the end of year I was noticing the sound and discovered Bronco6G and all the threads. By the end of 2025 we've recently got a cold snap in my State and I hear scraping sounds again. I'm also getting a burning oil scent inside my vehicle when I drive it with mild to moderate emphasis on changing gears at rpms of 2.5-3+ rpms.

I was able to really hear the grinding sound by leaning over and gently placing my ear on the top of the stick shifter knob (w/o putting in pressure on it) the scrubbing is very audible that way if you're mistaking other sounds or trying to listen for it. After seeing so many threads of unsuccessful accounts of the synchro and transmission repair/replacement. I'm getting an uneasy feeling I may be dealing with this situation for a long time w/ no avail. I'm hoping that I would be fortunate to be in the camp of those who do get the 5th and 6th replaced with revision D part and not experience any future sounds cropping up but seems that is quite rare as far as I can tell. At this point all I can do is get all this documented and join the line.

I bought my 2022 Bronco Badlands back in November of 2022. At first there was no noise, but after a year and 15k miles it developed the infamous rotational scraping noise. At first it was only when I first started it and the temperature was below 50F. But eventually it got to the point it was doing it regardless of the temperature and if it was cold-soaked. There were no other issues and the transmission shifted beautifully. I finally took it into my local dealer in July of this year to have them perform the TSB as well as replace my MIC top which had small stress cracks near the rear window (2dr), this was at 35k miles. It took 3 months to perform all the work under warranty. I've put 3k additional miles on it since then and it's dead quiet, even with the temps dipping down in the 30s. I am really happy I took it in and had them perform the TSB, I would recommend for those on the fence about it. Just my .02 cents.

I’m going to add my voice to the pile here. I’m driving a new 2024 Badlands. I bought it only a few months ago and it has around 2800 miles. I live in the Chicagoland area and the truck was outside most of the day yesterday in the cold. When I turned it on, I experienced the same sounds as in the original video. Same behavior, goes away when clutch pedal is depressed, goes away if I push the stick toward the 6th gear gate (with clutch pedal out). It does seem to go away after the car warms up a bit but it can also be heard when rolling in 1st and 2nd before it is warm.

I have an appointment to drop it off at Bob Rohrman Ford in Schaumburg, IL tomorrow and they plan on holding for a few hours to cold soak it and then diagnose it. Hopefully they come to the same conclusion and offer the repairs outlined in the TSB.

Update: The dealership confirmed the issue prior to Christmas, got approval from Ford, and ordered the parts for the repair all under warranty. They stuck me in a Bronco Sport loaner and now i’m just waiting. Last I heard, they haven’t started any work because they lack the necessary tools. I have about 0 hope of seeing the truck again before 2026 and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I wait until mid to late January to finally get it back. I’m just happy that they are fixing it and not giving me the runaround.

Well, will be interested to see if it is fixed and remains fixed. Hope it works out.

At this point in time, it's unreal that dealers still don't have the necessary tools for this repair.
