Better belly clearance out of the box. Floor drains that make the water actually want to go out of the floor drains. A fold down rear gate with internal rear window like the 78-96 had would have been cool.
I have a couple of theories and reasons on why the Bronco doesn't have a rear window that rolls into the tailgate (a la 4Runner), and I think it has to do with the soft/hardtop option.
1. I would imagine you couldn't have a rear window with a soft top as it wouldn't be able to seal. They would have to design two different tailgates. One with a motor for hard tops with a real window and one without for the soft tops.
2. If #1 is correct and you purchased a soft top and later wanted a hard top you may be limited in your ability to do so, or you would just have to settle with not having a rear window that drops into the tailgate.
3. From a liability perspective I could see someone removing their tops and raising the rear window while driving at highway speeds resulting in that window acting like an airbrake and possibly flying off.
4. Inevitable sealing issues when removing and reinstalling the hard top with the window.
