We no longer live in 29 Palms (did for 34 years) but I keep the moniker on forums,

I am new to the 6G but not to Broncos or 4wheeling. I have been wheeling for over 45 years, to include the Hammer Trails and the Mint 400. I was active with SoCalBroncos while living in California

After resisting buying anything tech laden (prior to the Bronco our newest vehicle was our 2007 F350) I finally broke down and picked up a used 2023 Wildtrak 2 door, Mid/High packages last Friday. I like that it reminds me of an Early Bronco and not a Jeep as the 4 door does.

It only had 10,255 miles on it when I purchased it from Peoria VW down in the Phoenix area. Which was a 4+ hour trip from our place. The driver's seat hadn't even been broken in by the previous owner's butt. I did appreciate him taking the $15K depreciation hit for me though.

The blue helps it stand out from the sea of white, gray, black and Area 51 colored ones I see so many of.

I had been looking hard at a leftover 2024 2 door yellow Heritage Limited as I LOVED the old school look of it. But the dealer was telling me it couldn't be sold until somebody from Ford looked at the Bilsteins and gave the ok.

I told them I would be buying a vehicle that weekend and wasn't going to make the 5 hour drive twice.

That dealer called me two days later and literally 2 hours after I put hold money down on the Wildtrak at the VW dealer to say they could now sell the HL. I told them they had missed their chance.

Wow, too bad, the Yellowstone HLE is awesome, I love it. I traded a 4dr Wildtrak. You will enjoy the Wildtrak, the HOSS 3.0 is great, that's one thing I'm missing from the Wildtrak.

While I much preferred the yellow over the powder blue, I think the Peak Blue version looks the absolute best.

I had been torn between the Heritage Limited (for the retro styling) and the Wildtrak (for the suspension). As we live 10 miles down a dirt county road, I had thought the HOSS 3.0 would smooth out the weekly trips to town but it's only slightly better at 35mph. I will say though that at 60mph the ride is GREATLY improved. It also really soaks up the entry/exit on the three washes I have to cross during that trip.

My grandson is making the same decision between a 2 door peak blue HL and a race red 2 door Wildtrak. Though since his wife finally agreed about moving out of the city to a 40 acre property, the Bronco purchase is now on hold until they can finalize that more important acquisition

Well I have had a bit of experience doing it as I have been on the internet since it was dial-up using a 300 baud modem and bulletin boards.

I hear you about Peak Blue, I had a choice between Peak Blue and Yellowstone from two different dealers when I was buying mine, Yellowstone won out because the price was many $$$$ better from that dealer. If all things were equal I'd probably have gone with Peak Blue but that's not to say I'm at all unhappy with Yellowstone, its a fabulous color that gets compliments all time. Peak Blue is also the rarest of the HLE colors. Tell your grandson to get the Peak Blue, he can always add HOSS 3.0 suspension if he deems it necessary.
