Hey all. Just wanted to share a fix I found that I’m pretty happy with the results of.

a few days ago I found a rogue cart resting up on one of my fender flares that scraped it up pretty badly. I was originally going to try and find a replacement, but thought I’d give the “cheap” option a try.

I’ve seen suggestions for black trim restorer, so I picked up Solution Finish Black on Amazon. It’s basically a plastic restorer that also has black dye in it. I did two applications and the scraped are basically invisible now. Super cheap fix compared to trying to find a new flare on Marketplace.

Do you have photos of before and after or just after? And how long has it been since you applied it? Just trying to get rough idea as to what the long term effectiveness is of the product.

I should’ve taken a before picture. The scrapes were a bright white and pretty obvious.

I put it on about a week ago and have washed the car since without any degradation. A lot of the reviews mention a life of about 9 months.

A trick my uncle taught me with plastic: get a lighter and you can sometimes melt it back a bit a fix small scratches. Go easy and do it lightly.

I’d love to see pics and believe you, but without pics it didn’t happen.

Thanks for the tip. Ordered! I think it's worth a try.

Had one hit mine too. Except it took the texture off of the fine luxurious plastic. I’ll just trade one out someday in a parking lot with another unattended Bronco.
OMG!!! thats so funny! now I'm afraid to park near another bronco

only two types of Broncos share my flairs, but the trails haven't been nice to them so I doubt anyone would try to trade me. LOL

Glad you found something that worked! Did the color change a substantial amount, as in so much that you had to also do the same to the rest of the fenders? And if so, do you think it’s now out of looking like the other plastic trim like the mirrors?

It cost me $200 to wrap all 4 and they look brand new although mine are bit more pain if you have to remove them, On a regular bronco I would never run them off road since you can just remove them.. I originally did XPEL on them but that only works soo much and its expensive material so I changed to basic matte finish black and if they get tore up we just redo them.
