Glad you had made the post on this. I just traded off my 23 Wildtrak last Monday for a 24 Raptor. I was going to keep my Slipstream from Diabolical, but it barely stayed open with the regular setup and leaning against the speaker pods. Now with that extra crossbrace on the rear of the rollbar this is THE option and I love the way it lays flat. I have been chatting with them for a couple of days now and even just now at 7:30pm PST they were responding. He said tomorrow they will get back to me with the info to order the carpet kit as they do not have it listed on the web quite yet. I need a secure option for the back and think is the best one out there!

Did they give you an eta on shipping of the trunk?

I received my trunk on Friday 03/28 (ordered it on 03/03). Did not come with carpet, but they have added gas struts to the setup (see pics below). It appears (I haven't tried one without it) to make it easier to fold up and down by holding the entire assembly up. Carpet is now available to buy separately on their website ($150).

I added the Ford tie-down rings so I could use my cargo net, so I purchased 4 additional bolts (they are allen key head and M8x50) from Ace Hardware to setup the tie-down rings. However, I found that in order to fold the trunk completely down, you have to move the back tie-down rings completely sideways (see my photo #2). So I only used 1 bolt on those two rings and I put the bolt through the back of the tie-down ring only, so it spins completely out of the way for the trunk to fold down. I ended up only using 2 additional bolts once I figured this out. I put plastic washers underneath the tie-down rings, so I can spin the back tie-down rings sideways or back straight if I want to. I was able to cut-up my Mabett trunk mat and make it work with the setup.

The soft top brackets did NOT line up properly for installation. Took me forever to get that to work. Had to push the side panels in/out and back/forth, install the bolts at an odd angle, and finally got it to work. I think I installed the OEM bolts at the top first and then bolts onto the panel itself. See my photo #3 where the bracket isn't level and the bolts in the side panel are crooked. Anyone else have problems with those soft top brackets or did yours line up properly? I think they need to adjust the placement of the holes in the soft top brackets (mine was about 1/4" off). It's also possible there is variance in the soft tops once they are installed, so they should have a wider hole for the OEM bolts to allow for variance side-to-side (same as the holes in the bracket for the side panel have variance in-and-out).

It appears they have eliminated consideration for the "molle panel accessories option" (you can see that in the instruction manual linked above), as that isn't included in the instruction manual that came with my trunk. My instruction manual does include the below "top shelf accessories option", which isn't included in the instruction manual linked above. The "shelf accessories option" (shelf inside the trunk) is still included in my instruction manual. It appears they are still reviewing/testing what options to ultimately provide for the trunk.

Nevermind - RTFM - M8x50. Does anyone know what size bolts are included with the floor plates? I want to add 4 more and secure my cargo tiedowns on top of the plate for the Ez Trunk. I am also printing some spacers between the floor plate and the bolt holes to provide some extra rigidity.

I just installed mine too and had the same issues with bracket placements for the soft top, and lowkey having a little bit of rattling when it’s folded down and driving around. Not sure if anyone else here is hearing any noise when driving over bumps and stuff.

Going to have to figure out how to make it work cause I do like it, but the other let down is that my subwoofer seems to cause major rattling when the ez trunk is up , but it lowkey makes sense given it’s a big subwoofer😅

Or a mounted swing gate sub….maybe there will offer a different version in the future.

If you figure out how to modify it to make it work I would love to know! I have a stinger sub enclosure mounted on the swing gate.

Tbh I think a molle style enclosure would probably work better to let bass pass through but when it lies flat not an issue at all, it’s just when the enclosure is secured

My molle panel mounted to the tailgate is about 1/2" too tall and I cannot flip the trunk closed and close the tailgate, as it hits the molle panel. I am going to attempt to modify the mounting holes on the molle panel to see if I can get it to slide an inch lower so that it will clear the trunk on the tailgate.

An easy fix is to remove the rubber seal on the ez 4x4 trunk and cut the lid however far out your molle panel, sub or tailgate table is (probably 1-2 in) and then put the rubber seal back on..... I say thats the easiest but at this time i really dont want to cut a new $800 trunk... so for now its the trunk over the table.....

Can you take a picture of how it sits over your table?

No because i already took off the table.... so it sits on top of it so it wont fully close or if the trunk is fully closed the tailgate doesn't shut

found ways to make it work and the team at EZ 4x4 have been extremely helpful in making sure I’m happy with the EZ trunk! Can’t thank them enough!

They suggested to leave the farthest panel back flip over and open and the rattle became obsolete for the most part since there’s space for the bass to pass through, not 100% full proof but going to keep making adjustments until it’s 100%
