2024 Trailer Tow Kit (New Ford Accessory Part)

I have a 24 BL 2dr, I bought the Ford trailer hitch online from a dealer. It came with the hitch, 4/7 connectors and module. I took off the driver side rear panel and wiring was all there, it just plug and play.

Just got the box, they had ordered the MB3Z19D520K instead of the 2024 kit which is VP2DZ15A416B. So completely incompetent about their own product selection.

I came to the dealer this morning after I had them order the kit to install on my '24 Outer Banks Sasquatch. They got an hour into and said they need to order a wiring harness because it's not prewired .... this will require two more hours of labor and the purchase of that harness. I told them to stop doing anything and put it back together.

Am I being straight lied to here? Straight from Ford and everything I'm reading here you need this single kit and it's already wired. I was only using them because I don't have a forscan.

I have forscan but didnt change anything and everything works fine...all the lights etc. So I don't know how or why it works...maybe the computer just recognized that the module was connected. All the turn signals and brake lights work on all my trailers. The trailer light check feature showed up and does the correct light check on the trailers. Not sure if this helps but this is what I did.

I purchased my 2024 WildTrak in January. The didn’t have the hitch so I asked them to install it before taking delivery.

I originally was supposed to pick it up on a Friday, but then the salesperson called saying that they had to order a harness and it would be Tuesday when it got in (Monday was MLK day).

I ended up getting a call late Monday that the harness came in and it was ready for delivery.

My point is that I was told the same thing as the OP.

NO that module will not work.
Go_UL_Cards also confirm that.

I believe the EJ7Z-19H332-E is for the Bronco sport.
It does not have the mounting bracket.
I am guessing it would not have the relay for aux/trailer battery
and the output is not the same. (Your lights will not operate correctly)

No I don't. I didn't take pics of it either. A member of this group had an extra that he was looking to get rid of. He said it came out of his 23. I just mounted it and plugged it in and everything was fine. Sorry

If you know how to use forscan, you can look at my post. You can do it yourself.

My two cents on something:
Having something professionally done, really only means you paid someone to do it.

If you know how to do something, you'll do better work on something that you have a vested interest in, versus someone who does not.

Again, this is a time, knowledge, money thing..
You're the only one who can determine that for yourself.

Well that was insanely easy. Took maybe 1.5 hours total. Here is a very brief video for anyone who isn't sure if they can do it, you 100% can. I did not remove my bumper, only my spare.

Anyone in Northern California have Forscan and would be willing to help me change my computer settings!?!?

Hey fellas....so today I plugged in my trailer (7 pin) and the lights all work on the trailer. This surprised me, I was under the assumption I needed to change the settings in the computer using Forscan? Does this mean my computer is good to go?

I still need to get a brake controller, probably going to go with the Ford OEM to keep it simple. Assuming that will be plug and play and I'm ready to rock for the summer.

Lights seem to work without any changes. It's the other towing features that need to enabled to work. (i.e. Sway Control, Trailer Lamp Check, etc. etc.)

The sway control and lamp check work on my24 after I installed the tow module without any FORSCAN changes...just does

It is very unusual for those to appear, work by installing the tow module.

Those should require forscan options changes by their very nature.

Lamp check specifically because typically that is not even enabled using FDRS.

Installing a module by itself does not change programming in separate modules.

Adding a tow module would not change settings into APIM.

Okay that's great clarity, but are those features required to safely tow or just nice to have? Obviously, I will also install the brake controller
