i mean i did that yesterday but. just call your dealer see what they say. He said it was unknown if they had any in the warehouse because it was even hard for him to find inventory in their system. "maybe because it's too new or their system is having issues"

Any guesses on how strong it is? It looks pretty comparable to the Rough Country tailgate reinforcement but the Ford part includes replacing the hinges.

I'd like to be able to eventually mount a 37" spare and a cooler tray above that.

The Turn Offroad product is much beefier and heavier.

I helped a buddy install it on his First Edition. I'm not convinced that much metal/weight back there is needed for what I want to do but this is only an opinion. I don't have any numbers to back it.

I think the installation is straight forward, in fact this video from Motoroso shows how to install a very "similar" product, and it looks easy. And when I say "similar", it looks identical.

The video makes it look like a fairly easy install. I wonder if you could prop the tailgate up and install one hinge at a time? Maybe lessen the need for any major adjustments.

That is my thinking. I plan to support it from underneath, on a nice soft bed since it's on the tailgate panel edge. I'll have someone hold it so it doesn't fall, while I change out each hinge one at a time. I'll also mark the hinge locations prior to unbolting, since it seems the connections to the body are similar from stock to upgrade. This could avoid all the wiring disconnection the Ford instructions state is needed as well. Realistically, this should go on in less than an hour.

same boat man. I was about to pull trigger on Turn Offroad's or IAG's and saw this one. Going to run this (if I can get my hands on one) and see how it goes. Less than half the price so... worth a shot.

is there a reason to have this with the stock Sas tires/rims? The reason I'm asking is that I have a nasty metal/metal (I think) squeak coming from my rear passenger corner that I can't track down. I have retightened the rear cap numerous times and put stuff on the rubber seals to reduce squeaking. I've been wondering if it's the spare tire wobbling (that has been tightened also).

The turn off-road hinges look more substantial. But with the 20% discount, this one is 37% the price for me.

I was planning on the Turn off road, but now I don’t know. Only 37% the cost is substantial.

I wonder if there is a Jerry Can mount for this.
