Im debating this. I saw they use velcro to install the liner. Ive also seen posts/photos of the factory headliner getting pulled down from the weight. Is this still an issue? I don't want to remove my factory liner, but I read there was a solution being introduced but that was 11 months ago.

I installed the Hot Heads product in my Bronco 2 or 3 months ago using the velcro to factory liner. Have had zero issues with it and recommend the product. The velcro that they provide with the product is very strong, you don't want to have to move it around if possible...

Has there been a noise and insulation benefit adding over factory liner? Trying to decide if it’s worth it. Thanks!

Yes to both though not drastic I’m happy with the purchase. As some have said before the wind noise may be slightly improved but it seems to quite the cabins “hollow sound” a bit.

I'm skeptical of the added weight too. I just had my MIC top replaced and the new headliner is sketchy. Could be poor installation by the service department.

They are very light. Not sure of the exact weight but they are basically very thin plywood wrapped with insulation and thin fabric. For comparison I would say that each panel would equal 2 pieces of standard corrugated box cardboard stapled together if that makes sense.

Can you elaborate on your new MIC headliner? I’m having my top replaced under warranty next week and I’m concerned about this.

I don't know if it's the headliner or the installer, but the headliner on the new top isn't attached as well as the original. There are some areas on the front two panels where it's not sticking. I haven't inspected the rest of it.

My guess is that it's a preparation and installation issue. But these headliners are not great to start with as there have been issues with them falling down in the clamshell portion.

Just purchased my Hothead Headliner this weekend with the Black Friday Sale. I too got the Velcro version since my MIC Hard Top had the factory installed headliner.

I personally have only seen one picture (not even a forum post as it was on a google images) where the Bronco factory headliner peeled off from the roof. And I cannot confirm if it was related to any aftermarket headliner.

I can’t vouch for the product yet since it has yet to arrive, but I would imagine if you’re baking in Texas sun in tandem with an aftermarket headliner installed, sure it may peel off after a couple of months. Can’t expect factory adhesive to last forever.

But I would imagine if you garage the bronco and live in a temperate area (non 100+ degrees in Fahrenheit) this liner should be fine. I can post back here in a few months after I’ve lived with it for a bit. I have no expectations of the Hothead Headliner peeling off my factory liner, and my confidence in the longevity of the product is decently high.

@Dabba you mentioned you saw forum posts and photos of the Factory headliner peeling off. Can you provide links to those posts?
