I would think that the motor and controls would be water tight 'enough' for most everyone but factor in age and corrosion, and I see it being an issue later on in service life. Kind of like what has been alluded to with the alternator location on the one engine (2.3 iirc)

Back on topic, I will be curious to see what is actually offered with the Sasquatch package. I'd think it would be, mainly for the gearing, like the Rubicon, but have no idea.

Does "Slippery" GOAT mode = 4A?
If answer is yes it seems the only reason to add this option would for the gear change.
Edit- Maybe not literally = to 4A when selected with the Advanced 4x4 TC but for practical purposes/driving behavior would they be essential the same?

If everyone is right in the expectation that having 4A is required to get the 4.7:1 ratio, then I’d have to go with yes.
the 4.70 number is ring and pinion (diff) xfer case is always 1-1 in high and whatever it is in low...I heard 2.72 and 3.06 for standard and "advanced" respectively?

it's not a module...it's just and electric motor. They typically can handle being wet pretty well, but over the long term water gets in them and they corrode. Just always happens when you need the 4x4 and haven't used it in a while...then you long for the days of a lever on the floor!

The F150 guys who have it swear by it, but they also seem to think everyone switches in and out of 4wd on patchy snow covered roads. I don't have it, have never had anything similar and have never had a problem. Then again, I dont usually bother with 4wd unless the roads are covered in snow (and even then I sometimes stay in 2wd).

The one condition though where I see it could be useful is 33 degrees and rain. I have hit a dip in the highway that was icy and had the back end kick out at 70mph (was in 2wd, it was just rain after all). I am much more cautious when temps are under 35 and it is raining now (make sure no throttle when there is a dip in the highway).

To me though, 4A is just somthing else to break, it's an electronically controlled center diff. If you're not off roading, maybe it makes sense but I think it's just another potential failure point if you are off roading (maybe I am wrong).

4A is one of my primary purchase points. My ranch roads are a mix of grass, dirt, sand, gravel and rock and when it rains, mud. I intend to use that 4A mode very frequently so 1K is cheap for me.

Your diff is electronicly controlled regardless of which transfer case you buy.

My old 05 F150 FX4 just had 2H, 4H, & 4L.
My wife's Expedition has the 4A option, but we have never really used it. I tell her to use it when it snows, but I doubt she does.
Subject line says it all...is it worth 1K?
People on this forum talk a lot about how Sasquatch gives 4.7 final gearing ratio. Maybe I'm missing something, but ADVANCED AUTOMATIC 4X4 HAS MORE AFFECT ON LOW GEARING THAN THE SASQUATCH 4.7 FINAL.
Check this table. This is something OFF-ROADERS SHOULD CARE ABOUT, although I have not seen anyone mention it.

Ford Bronco Automatic On Demand 4x4...is it worth 10 Benjamins? bronco gears

LOOK AT THE NUMBERS FOLKS! There is SUBSTANTIAL Low Gear DIFFERENCE between the Standard 4x4 and the Advanced 4x4 system! Part of what you pay for on lower trim levels to gain crawling ability.

I have an all wheel drive Subaru now and the automatic 4WD feature is something that’s important to me. I live in an area with 4 season weather and I’ve gotten used to being able to drive in all conditions year round.

I think the 4A would be perfect for my wife, I would tell her to leave it in that all the time. Because you can leave it in 4A all the time and she would forget to turn it on in the snow.

Your Subaru is full time AWD, not automatic AWD. There's a difference. Automatic AWD in the Bronco is RWD until slippage is detected.

The 4.7 gearing helps on the street for better daily driving. The lower low range helps off road. I would want both.

Yes
The auto 4wd is aimed at driving in the snow. It can do other things too but if you drive where it snows much you want this.

True.

Still works better for me personally vs a part time system though.

How does it compare to Jeep and Toyota’s full time system?

Actually, they both help for off-road. I think people like the Squatch 4.7 for its ability to crawl slowly off-road rather than its ability to go slowly on the road.
