Got 24 mpg on a 5-state road trip late September. Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado. 7 MT, 2.3. Stayed in 5th gear and around 68-69 mph which is about 2500 rpm. Very little turbo engagement. And every fill up was 91 octane.

I thought about getting a new set of smaller (wd. and dia.) pizza cutters with for regular commuting but am worried about the ford electronics... does anyone know how to do a swap back and forth for off roading when needed?

I drive a lot around town and usually get 17mpg from my non-Sas 2dr Badlands with a heavy winch sticking out front. The most I have gotten is 18.5mpg and that was from driving 50 miles one way to go wheeling some forest roads in Cheaha state park. Strangely enough that was a good amount of slow trail riding and even a bit in 4 Low aired down . I will get to see what the hwy mileage is next week as we have a trip planed that will be 400 miles one way with some moderate wheeling in between. Probably set the PSI according to the data plate as I normally run 35psi for comfort . I also never go by the dash display as it consistently shows 1.5-2mpg higher than I actually calculate at fill up.

2023 Heritage Edition 2 door manual.
I have charted over 25k miles.
The biggest hit to fuel economy is speed and head winds.
Second is being in boost pulling hills.
The best I have gotten is a little over 22.5.
Average is just over 18.5.
I run 89 octane and sport mode.

I would be surprised if there was much gain to be had--since I think the limiting factors are aerodynamics ( it is a refrigerator box on wheels), large high rolling resistance tires, low gears, inefficient drive train, and relatively heavy for size. The same motor in other ford vehicles gets 30+ highway mpg so that should tell you something. Running ethanol free fuel is the only thing I have found that will consistently raise your mpg.
Did non ethanol help the drivability of the Bronco? What grade did you put in. My 2012 Acura I put non ethanol in and was wondering if non ethanol is what I should go with in my Bronco.

Then don't buy a heavy, 4WD vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick on top of a cinder block and large, heavy tires designed for grip on loose surfaces.

All the stupid intakes and other crap will gain you nothing.
Good God, you must be AWESOME at children's parties...

I have 850 miles so far on my base Big Bend (2-dr with manual) and am consistently getting 22mpg, with a variety of driving conditions (highway, rural roads and light towing). Using stock tire size, but upgraded to Goodyear Duratracs. Mileage stayed the same over the OEM Bridgestones. Considering my previous 2024 Bronco Sport (unibody with the little 1.5 liter 3cyl Dragon engine) averaged 29mpg, I'm super happy with this. I'm curious whether it's true that the automatics get better mileage (all things considered).

People say ANYTHING behind a keyboard....
This was some real advice as anyone who does a dedicated trip for some fast-food knows that it's a 'waste' of gas. Hell, I tell myself this when I feel the urge to make a 20 mile round trip to in n out lol.

People get so offended of the things they see on a computer screen..

Everyone will jump on this and say I'm full of it...but I get 29mpg around town with a two-door 2.3. I stay out of turbo, don't need it until freeway. I don't race to the stop lights. I go at or 10% above speed limits, but no jack rabbit starts. Hey with my old Wrangler I got 24mpg with same driving habits.
I'm with you on driving like this as that's how I drive. I usually get outstanding gas mileage in almost any vehicle as a result. I get 22.7 in the Bronco Sas, 32 in my daily driver Chevy Colorado and got 40 MPG is a 2016 Subaru WRX on a highway trip once. People laughed thought the turbo was missing in the WRX.

Looks like this is going down a path it doesn't need to go. Let me just personally say that I intended no offense to OP or anybody on this forum.

I see that you're not offended and it's clear others skin isn't as thick.

Thanks for your 2 cents and thank you for your service (y)
