Question about SSM 51184 Manual Park Release Cable

Hi, I have a question about this TSB
2020-2022 Escape/Corsair, 2021-2022 Bronco Sport - Hiss Or Rattle Noise While Driving - Manual Park Release Cable

It says "If the noise is eliminated when the cable is disconnected from the transmission, install a new manual park release cable assembly".
To diagnose this, will it be enough for me to do only step 6 (or 6 and 7) as shown in the photo or do I need to remove the cable completely, including the part in the cabin compartment?

All you need to do is disconnect it from the transmission. Not completely remove the cable.
