FWIW: the Falken's (specifically the AT3W's and AT3Wa's, a whole different animal built for the G-wagon when purchased in Merc-spec) are hugely popular in the Porsche Cayenne overlanding community. Not sure that many have run comparisons against the 4's (being as new as they are), but I look forward to your review on the Bronco! (As I'm sure you already know: ) They're known for minimal noise and a balanced performance on the road (which is important to us).

Thank you
I had a chance to look up the rims, larger bore size and width is too narrow for the tires. Not sure I want to deal with hub centric rings, likely a custom order.

I've researched/searched at nauseum, tires this size for the use case are annoying me. I have to decide on something this week.

My wife's HLE arrives this weekend, the SAS tires do not jive with our gravel driveway, that is the only reason I'm replacing them ASAP. I don't want higher than a load range D tire, on-road, quiet and wet traction needs to be good.

I'm leaning toward the Mickey Thompson Baja EXPs (D) or the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W (C), how are these with gravel compared to the SAS tires? Are there less aggressive options that don't look nerdy and not in the E/F range?

Even these are overkill since it will never be off road. I have my old 35" Baja ATs sitting the garage, I was going to put those on this new Bronco, but again that'd be a waste so I'll put those on the Jeep since the Goodyear MTs are trashed.

Thanks!!
I swapped mine out for Toyo AT3's. I love the tires but wish they were load range C's. The D's feel heavier and not as smooth a ride.

Took our Bronco on a family trip. Overall I was very happy with the Yokohama G018's. Noticably quieter compared to the stock Goodyear's, seemed more compliant over any road surface and the mileage seems slightly better than the stock Goodyear's as well.

Keep us updated as you get more miles on them. I’m looking for less drone inside on long trips. These AT4 are the top of my list right now. Had the g015 on my wife’s wrangler and they were good but wore faster than I expected.

I'm going to rotate my tires soon, I'll take measurements with a tread depth gauge.

Honestly, no. I just asked my wife and she said she can't feel a difference either for what that's worth lol. If anything the "added" stiffness from the E rated tires makes driving feel less wallowy and more sure footed. I hit a bump on the way to work daily at 60-70mph while in a left-hand corner, that would cause the GY's to shimmy a little. I immediately noticed that feeling was gone on my first commute to work. Both tires are aired up to 35-37psi.

Heavy tires...
Which ones? Falkens?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am eyeing a set of 285/75/17. On sale for $240+. E load is my only concern.

To add something I just found out.

MT Baja legend EXP is the same as the old Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP tire. Cooper is the OEM. Maybe they changed the rubber but look almost the same.

TFL did a three-tire shootout in the snow. The braking from 30mph with the Falkens is scary.

I cancelled the Falkens day before install, I put on the 35" Baja Boss ATs that I had in the garage. Overkill for this pavement Bronco, but known good choice.
